>wintard doesn't know how to replace hard drive
>not replacing the hard-drive the moment you got it
>using a hard-drive in a laptop in 2019
I know how to replace it, I'm just too poorfag to buy another one. The only other 2.5in hard drive I have is a 40gb IDE.
Buy the kind of harddrive that doesn't click.
When you buy refurbished, you buy a new battery and new HDD as well. Fuck, how did you not learn that?
SSDs are cheap these days
Not replacing your hard drive every 6 months
THE ABSOLUTE STATE
I replace the SD cards in my RaspPis every 12 to 16 months. Feels fuckin' good mang.
What do you moronic shitheads do to kill your HDs?
>inb4 OP replies "dindu nuffin"
I'll admit that it fell out of my bag and down the stairs but that was 6 months ago. Plus, the hard drive should've been "shock resistant" and if that's the reason then I was fed bullshit.
can i replace its motherboard? does anyone produce motherboards for them?
>and down the stairs
kek
Kek
The hard drive is completely unrelated to the rest of the system. It's the most sensitive part by far. Replace that shit with an SSD you dipshit.
Yes some models even support upgrades from chinks
go buy a solid state drive, they are much faster and have no moving parts
>I fell for the Thinkpad meme and a year later the hard drive is clicking.
Why did you not swap it to SSD like day 1?
Realize lenovo does not manufacture the drives
Are routine hard drive clicks really that bad? I got a hard drive that still holds files fines, but the repetitive clicking worries me. Sometimes transfer speed drops to 0 and stays there.
Gee user, there's a thi g called SMART test and power-on hours, and error rate
This is what backups are for you fucking blonde.
>falls down the stairs
>works fine apart from the hard drive
>thinkpads are a meme
>he didn't enable Active Protection System
>the hard drive
When you purchase a used thinkpad you are supposed to upgrade the RAM to 8GB and install an SSD you fucking mongoloid
