install from mini.iso
don't select a de

i dare you

yes newphage it is perfectly possible to install debian the arch way. That being said I just choose to click "xfce" and have the shit do everything for me.

Attached: 1560681628635.png (208x229, 6K)

keep talking. I am installing opensuse as I type this. trying it out for the first time, but I would like to get into Debian

>I am installing opensuse as I type this
How did you make that post then?
GUI installer?

I don't own just one machine? To be specific, I'm on a desktop and I am putting opensuse on my thinkpad

Anything relating to lesbian is terrible

>lesbian porn

i said DONT choose ''xfce''

do it

it just installs a shell bro

Any man who tells you not to install xfce is clearly a woman trying to pass herself off

if its the choice of Makiposters then I'll have to strongly consider it

Attached: 1500113985444.jpg (827x1169, 396K)

What the fuck does that mean "the arch way"? The bare minimum to have a working system?
I swear people who keep making those threads are actually anime-watching brainlets

it's clearly not what i mean bro

y that's what it means with the exception that arch works

then what (((do))) you mean, bro?

try it and find out

wrong

I have tried it. It installs a terminal. It installs a server operating system without graphics. Newphage die. Summer will end soon.

you forgot
> it installs grub on your install media

Actually you can choose which disk to install grub on.
>newphage loses again

Attached: 1560684344777.png (1238x829, 2.7M)

oh you surely can, between the install drive and the install drive, much choice

Its has a nonfree iso? Based

Oh look, it's that retarded Debian tranny again. Remember to dilate each 4 hours.

>minimal
500 packages installed just for the base system. systemd.
>ultrastable
Artifacting ampersands on neofetch, cinnamon that can't open the terminal and installs without wallpapers. Stable in the sense of being unusable without upgrading to testing.
>has bsd version
So is gentoo and others, it's also no longer maintained.
>both free and nonfree iso available
Using proprietary software is not an advantage on GNU/Linux.
>based debian sid is rolling release
Much rolling when you're still behind a kernel which is on 4.19 when 5.1.10 just came out, wine is 4.2 when latest is 4.9, etc.
>can install any packages without conflict when combined with gnu guix
Just like every other distro. May as well use Guix by default which is of course is a much better distro by a far.
>ultralarge community with industry tier support
ultralarge community of trannies, weebs, autists and fanboys
>tried and tested in the fires
>tried and tested in the deep tunnels
>the distro of the people
The distro of the most insuffereable people on this planet. Come on, go ahead and strawman about systemd and trannies that's all you got left to do.

see
also, adding personal experience,
shit tooling, with many overlapping functionally.
good luck making a .deb package
not having /sbin in root PATH at least.
too many upstream changes that makes things convoluted mess.
debian is a complete shitshow

They have time to waste so choose not to do everything with the graphical install and instead opt to do it manually.

>not imagining all your porn
Truly the most beta of decisions.

its mean they don't sit at a command line touching themselves because that doesn't get them off like it does with you queero

>I swear people who keep making those threads are actually anime-watching brainlets
this, seriously who the fuck calls cli installation "arch way"
seriously what a retard, as someone who is a big animefag and gentoofag, that guy needs to off himself. Is not even better just because it's from the command line, you can do the same with squashfs on any distro or kickstar files specifically on red hat distributions

Attached: 1560584427050.png (428x850, 238K)

The arch way, as I understand it, is to copy the arch wiki installation handbook verbatim in order to feel smart.

>fell for the anti-systemd meme
Thanks for letting me know at the beginning of your post that you're a linux noob summerFRIEND idiot
>neofetch and cinnamon
Try screenfetch and xfce newphage
>gentoo does it too
gentoo does literally every possible thing it is a totally custom linux distro from scratch each time. that doesn't make it better. you can customize gentoo to be a piece of shit too it doens't come stable by default
>don't use nonfree drivers
what if my laptop ain't work worth a shit u dipshit. Am I just gonna throw away a laptop?
Are you some rich kid who's dad buys him everything?
>old kernel
You can upgrade the kernel on the thing user jeezus
>debian + guix is just like every other distro
No because lacks stability like debian has
>trannie community
yeah sure but as long as there are weeb autists and fanboys present we get shit done

You're a fucking newFRIEND summerFUCKER. Suck a dick and learn linux and die.

Attached: 1560196490266.jpg (184x184, 31K)

That's what I did, and it turned out fine.

>vbox

buster when?

What distro would you recommend then?

void linux is the only cure for systemd

>the logo is a pube
thanks but no

Attached: hahaha.gif (686x380, 3.09M)

I have managed to obtain two identical thinkpad T480 at a pretty good deal. I dont exactly have the equipment to do a review like notebookcheck but am happy if anyone wanted comparison benchmarks, etc.

Oh shit. Why did that post here.

Come back when you have
>immutability
>unbreakable system
>modularity
>up-to-date packages in stable/actual stability in testing
>SELinux per default
>no /etc/init.d
>replaced dpkg with something good

I'd do that anyway and then install a twm?

What about systemd-purged distros like Ubuntu, Debian or Gentoo

whatever, tpg is a bunch of manchilds trying to look cool for using pre-lenovo thinkpads or saying dumb shit like the old keyboard FEELS better. When is just the layout that is better and the new keyboard has actually better feeling

Whats wrong with dpkg?

rpm is better and is the chosen standard by the Linux Foundation

>>SELinux per default
Buster enables AppArmor by default for new installs

>>up-to-date packages in stable/actual stability in testing
the whole point of stable is "I don't care about the latest version, I'd rather have less bother"

>apparmor
lol, debian is now downstream of ubuntu
this just confirms it, have fun choking in canonical dick debiantards

>Debian is a distro that has to be shipped on Jow Forums.
I think that's all that has to be said about the type of person using Debian.

In what ways is it better? Name 1(one) thing that makes it better

If you really demand MAC (and I'd question its usefulness in most environments) the AppArmor is much nicer and less of a pain in the ass than SELinux.

easier to write since rpm can ship with more metadata than a dpkg package

More metadata on the package? Thats why dpkg is bad? Topkek

>Debian is a distro for those with taste and class
So people who wear fedoras? What happened to those people anyways? Did they become trannies?
>>minimal
Lots of distros are.
>>ultrastable
It's only stable if you have 5+ year old hardware or don't want applications that have new features. If neither of those are met, Debian becomes a timesink with many hoops to jump through. It also isn't as stable as Arch, or Ubuntu, or perhaps even Fedora.
>>has bsd version
So what?
>>both free and nonfree iso available
Just know what packages are non-free.
>>based debian sid is rolling release
Arch does it better.
>>can install any packages without conflict when combined with gnu guix
This isn't a high bar.
>>ultralarge community with industry tier support
Ultralarge = hella trannies
industry tiet = pajeet sir
>>tried and tested in the fires
Non-sequitur.
>>tried and tested in the deep tunnels
Non-sequitur.
>>the distro of the people
If by "the people" you mean "discord trannies" then maybe you're onto something.

>Just know what packages are non-free.
fucking this, I mean if you're not checking the source code you have no reason to care.
You're just placeboing yourself by thinking you have "more freedom" just because the source code is available.
But that said most people only use firmware as a non open source software in the linux community. Which fedora allow by default but doesn't have any non free software

UBVNTU is the best for desktops

Attached: ubuntu.jpg (2326x1286, 535K)

> if you have 5+ year old hardware
3+, since releases happen every three years.
> with many hoops to jump through
Use testing in that case, new kernels are built monthly.
> stable as Arch
lol, should've announced you're an Arch fanboy.
