A flash drive I carry around.

Nextcloud self hosted

How would one set up their own cloud?

>using "micro"soft products ever

ignore my post
i am a retard who read Git as github

Only github is owned my Microsoft. Git is open source and there are many git repositories out there.

>self-hosted "cloud"

cheap VPS and rsync

cloud is nothing more than a computer connected to the internet. so to setup your own cloud u need a computer that runs 24*7, internet and software.

Been looking for this since a few days.
Backblaze for backup only seems good, pCloud is another one, if not GDrive for syncing. Hetzner has some nextcloud storage pretty cheap too.

Nextcloud running on a pi

owlcloud running on a ~$6 vps

this except I'm running nextcloud

Just evaporate some water. EZ

Raspberry Pi with Syncthing.

not so easy.
you still need the good atmospheric conditions or your evaporated water will just disperse into the air.

syncthing just works(tm)
mapped into nextcloud for web access

Microsoft OneDrive, thanks to my Office 365 subscription

Do you use a VPS or just something running in your house?
If the former, which VPS?
If the latter, how do you handle security?

I have nextcloud setup behind my own VPN, but I'm thinking it would be more convenient if I didn't have to VPN. But I don't want to create a massive security gap which lets anyone access my Nextcloud data

Sounds like you're being ironic or something, but I do have an Office 365 subscription which gives me 1 TB of space on OneDrive as well as 1 TB to like 5 other persons (my wife and family members for the most part).

So yeah, I use OneDrive.

It's ok.

locally storing everything since I'm a massive fucking data hoarder. At least until I buy a new rig and convert my current box into a server.

Self hosted nextcloud.

I use kimsufi dedicated server.
Nextclous has users, nobody can access your data if they don't know the password, even if server is connected to the internet.

file juggler + usb 3 HD

>he doesn't know how to edit posts

Dropbox. But I'm planning on ditching it cause it's becoming too intrusive.

Gdrive with Cryptomator configured

tell me why i shouldnt use OneDrive + cryptomator (related to privacy)

All of them, of course my data is encrypted.
Only a fool would self host because muh privacy, encrypt and don't care.

you should

I use unlimited g drive that game with my edu.

It's self hosted

Encrypted files on Mega

can i take this thread to also ask people what's good non-spy email service?

None, it's snake oil.

Nextcloud is the only correct answer

ipfs

your own

Any service with when you use PGP to encrypt your emails first

>yfw file sharding kills your SSD

bewwy nice

I don't need much storage, so if I need to host something privately, it goes on my Optiplex server, it has about ~500GB worth of storage. If I need it to be public, it goes into the apache server files.
