That's what I'm currently doing but it can be a real pain in the ass
it crashes anywhere from 8k to 30k files, the size of the files doesnt seem to affect it

Well you could look at what's causing it to crash, the amount of data (x Gb), number of files or number of folders

Windows explorer handles it just fine. Try robocopy otherwise.
