PS5 will be 2000 faster than 2070 rtx and 2000 slower than 2080 rtx for fraction of the price? How did they do it?

contracts, prospects of selling 80 million plus units.

scale

You mean like how the PS3 was supposed to be so powerful it could be used for decades before anything surpassed it thanks to it's Cell processor? How about how the PS4 was supposed to play everything at 60fps and 1080p and couldn't even do that?

as user says.
economies of scale.

2000 what?

speed units

yes

7nm+ and New AMD arch plus mass scale

Source?

*outputs 720p60 upscaled to 4K with 60 FOV and terrible LOD to your 50ms delayed TV*

Wow pc fags on suicide watch

RAM power

what do you mean? nvidia massively overpriced their shit, you mongoloid

lordsofgaming.net/2019/06/first-playstation-5-benchmark-just-leaked/

>fraction of the price

its gonna be 799+tip goy

it's going to be 500 bucks which is better than getting ripped off by nvidia or amd
god I fucking hate this "hobby"

unless i can pirate vidya off it, gonna still be more expensive long term

Its questionable how overpriced nvidias shit is given die size, however they are on a process that yeilds good... amd is definitely overpriced given die size and 7nm cost that was calculated 2 years ago which has sense fallen. it wont be till next gpu cycle that things get back to sanity, still overpriced, but sane

>How did they do it?
it's going to be released in 2020, by then it's going to be nothing really that exciting

I argue that sales and overall usefulness of a computer far outstripes a console, and the only part of a computer that should be compared to a console in cost is the gpu because god knows you can run everything on integrated, a gpu is mostly just for games while a console is near exclusively for games no matter what they want to push.

that (((12nm))) node costs dick
and yes it's overpriced given die sizes
that's precisely why it's obvious shit is overpriced

tvs since consoles came around have been working on input lag, getting to the point they are lower lag then many gaming monitors even with processing 'effects' on.

>gpu is mostly for games
true that and rendering futa porn

the 12nm node is a few processes that give better yield, more or less for phones and very low size products, the extra steps are fucking worthless, but when 1 bad defect can kill what would be 60 phone dies of space, it's worth doing. that said, nvidia is still making massive fuck off dies even if they cost nearly the same as a 16nm wafer

This benchmark is clearly underestimating the turing cards. RTX 2070 is 10%ish faster than the GTX 1080 but it scores lower.

realistically, if gaming died, you would have render engines likely make their own asic,

Is that really Firestrike? None of those scores look right. Even Vega56 and RTX2070 both score around 25000 points.

gaymer pointz™

Don't trust manchildren.
It's most likely fake and games will struggle to keep the 1080p60fps entry point.

Hey boys I never use this side of Jow Forums but I have a question related to gpus and idk if I can create a thread for that.

I found a deal 1070 ti for 210 euros but im unsure if it was mined with. The guy said he got it for free from MSI. Is it worth the risk?

>PS5’s Gonzalo APU seems to offer better performance than NVIDIA’s GTX 1080 which is very impressive for a console. GTX 1080 is still considered a top end GPU and capable of running a lot of games in Native 4K and 60 FPS.
>Seems like

Sony is just using the die of a navi gpu, not the whole gpu that includes the pcb, memory, heatsink and fans, on top of that amd doesnt charge you up the ass for one of their gpus and since they are buying them in bulk their price will be even lower
even the rtx 2080 isnt that expensive to produce

>gpu is mostly just for games
moshi moshi, 2019 desu, there's this buzzword framework, tensorflow (or torch if you're gay)

t. retard who doesn't know how gpu pricing and console generations work

sure, but
$1B =gaming gpus sold by nvidia
$300m = compute GPUs sold by nvidia

hurt feelings?
Don't worry, fifa will run as poorly as ever so you will still be able to play it between your smash games on your switch with last decade hardware.

You know that gpu dies are not expensive to manufacture right?

If only we could run desktop version of Windows 10 on the new Xbox, would be the best of both worlds.

They didn't.

The fuck is this shitty image OP? If this is firestrike then it down plays Nvidia cards to make the PS5 looks better than it really is

An rtx 2070 can easily score 22k

Attached: untitled-2.png (722x945, 80K)

>big dies are inexpensive
*spits coffee*

under 300mm2 they aren't

even something like the 2080 doesn't cost more than 150 dollars to manufacture (for the die atleast)

with RTX it's hard to say actually, nvidia went full retard with those chips, yields are shit even at 12nm
251mm2 Navi though is definitely overpriced like hell

im pretty sure AMD will drop the navi prices after rtx super gets released

>1.7bn gaming
>0.7bn compute
Now, how many of those gayming gpus end up being used for compute?
Even mid-tier gpu will shave weeks off of your hello-GAN tensorflow project.
Hell, a uni that doesn't have 500k$ grant money lying around for meme learning will instead get a bunch of high-end geforce gpus. At least in yuropoor, cause supercomputers are busy doing useful work.

Attached: IMG_20190413_094552_990.jpg (900x944, 57K)

I don't know. do you personally work at any uni? as far as I know they buy quadros here
and as we well know nobody bought RTX, nvidia lost 45% revenue twice in a row

lol

Faster than 2070rtx

System score vs. graphics score probably. But honestly neither one makes sense.

This

irrelevant for at least 40% of the market
we get starter prices here and they never change
for example 2080ti was is will be $1500(taxes) here forever, just like 1080ti is still full price
1080ti is hilariously more expensive than 2080

>How did they do it?
by releasing it at or near the year 2021, you fucking noob

why would you buy that censorstation anyway when you could probably get a 4080 for the same price by then?

>Gtx 1080 scoring higher than RTX 2070
>Vega 64 scoring higher than RTX 2070
Something is wrong with this chart

firestrike is synthetic test, it's well optimized for all cards and shows it's direct computational power
real games vary a lot in different directions because there is optimization bias/time constraints on dev side
that's why 3dmark is irrelevant for purchase choice

>speed units

>sony
>leak
ahahah can't wait for next year when 2060 performance is the most you're gonna get

still x3 more than current ps4

I'm just gonna leave this here

Attached: Screenshot_20190627-175352_Chrome.jpg (947x1975, 521K)

Stop peddling the gay fake leak shit i just had to check if i was on /v/ or Jow Forums because this thread is cancer

>do you personally work at any uni?
Yes, not in meme learning though, but i know they bought a bunch of geforces couple years back.
We have a mini-cluster of 88x Vega 64 for password cracking from two years back because quadros (and geforce) were shit and overpriced for that, but we got the money from gubmint/military.
And i personally bought P100 just to play with meme learning because GANs are nightmare to train on consumer hw, before that i bought GTX 750 Ti specifically to play with tensorflow.

>no details on the bench used
>no details on what it measures
>no details on the specs

As far as we know it could be a complete fake or a measure of raw computing power (explains why the V64 scores above the 2070) yet mean absolutely nothing in game, unless you want to use your PS5 as a supercalculator.

user, stop pretending to be retarded and posting "competition" 2100niggaherz OC on water or hell know what 2070s

okay, I give you another $200m of market for those purposes
doubt it goes beyond this niche

>GTX 1080 is still considered a top end GPU
>Capable of running a lot of games at 4k/60

Uh huh. A 1080 isn't a top end GPU now and it sure as hell won't be in late 2020 when the PS5 actually releases.

Thanks. Let's see how the market looks in another couple years.

My fucking sides hurt from this thread.

Playstation consoles always lose money. Sony makes the money back on the games.

go gonzalo go

This

GPU are sold at relatively high markup because muh PC mustardrace are happy to pay a premium to suck team green's dick. Sony is buying 80 million graphics cards on smaller margins and selling them at a loss.

Don't fall into Sony's lies.

Xbox one x. The most powerful console of all time. Console fags still fall for the marketing tricks that they stopped using in the pc market 20 yesrs ago

Gee, I wonder where these """rumors""" come from

Attached: sony.gif (2013x1235, 806K)

they didnt

PSplus will likely see a price increase and Sony will cushion the financial hit with reoccurring income through services

I gave up on consoles when they decided to turn them into subpar PCs with all the disadvantages of PC gaming and none of the benefits

Play game on 2002 console:
>Insert disc
>Play

Play game on 2019 console
>Insert disc
>OH BUT YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD THIS 65 GB DAY ONE PATCH
>OH SORRY OUR SERVICE IS DOWN TODAY, NO GAME FOR YOU
>OH SORRY WE LAUNCHED A BROKEN GAME, NO PLAY FOR YOU

Fuck modern consoles

>the most irrelevant console of all time
Fix'd

It's bullshit that's why

Dont forget the absolute dog shit servers. On steam a 65 gb patch would take minutes to download. On the ps4 it takes at least 3 hours

steam goes down too

>Sony network goes down
>You're fucked

>Steam goes down
>Can play a million other games because PC isn't a retarded 1 service monopoly

Steam can be used offline.

>all the disadvantages of pc and none of the benefits
cant read you fucking cuckstation monkey?
