What for do I need 2000 ryzens since I can buy and OC a 1000?

10% more performance when Oc'd
Or compatibility with 500 series motherboards

Thanks, I read that they have bad cache or something?

Just wait, spend an additional 40€ and buy a 3000 series. Better IPC, better single/multicore performance, better AVX256 performance, better thermals/power usage, better memory compatibility, better memory overclocking, better CCX-to-CCX latency.

I'm not completely sure 40 euros is worth it.

If you plan on upgrading 4 years later, that's 10€ per year additional.

If you plan on upgrading 8 years later, that's 5€ per year additional.

And you can always sell it off to recoup some of that investment. Seriously, what do you gain by buying a two generation outdated product? Why not buy a 20€ Intel Xeon server cpu with 8+Cores that beats that CPU in single threaded performance?

That's actually exactly what I'm planning - a x3450 to overclock to 4-4.2. That will easily easily last me at least 5 more years. I want 1280x1024 77hz gaming.

Every ryzen cpu (except maybe the 4 core parts with only one ccx) have latency problems. Zen+(ryzen 2000) has better cache latencies than zen(ryzen 1000).
But seriously wait for zen2.

I have a Ryzen 1600 and love it, Ive gotten it to 4.0 already. It really loves fast ram, get it if you can it on sale.

Don't know where you live but I see 2600 prices falling everywhere, even saw one for 79€ recently

Damn, you must be really lucky. Mine 1600 won't go higher than 3.75 without crashing occasionally. The stock cooler is really good though, more than enough for max overclock.

Yeah because 3600 is 170€,its 220€ so + 90€ which is 70% more expensive.

Isn't 220 for the 3600x ?

Power savings is money too.

Bigger is better.
2000 is 100% better than 1000.

S O P A

>latency problems

That was a windows bug. Microsoft just patched it and ryzen latency is way better.

cant wait until buyfags fall for the ryzen 2 meme and the 1800x prices drop

>77hz
Is this a meme I'm not aware of?

Zen 1 has high l2 latencies.
Also the "windows bug" is not a bug but just missing topology awareness. It is zens fault that these latencies exist, inter ccx communication just takes more time. Windows task is to reduce the occurrence of this problem by using cores on the same ccx when possible. These high latencies still exist, but windows can now avoid them sometimes.
Still zen overall has worse latencies than intels monolithic chips, that's just part of their mcm design.

It's an old monitor, you've probably seen this meme sometimes here but it's that retarded that even most brainlets on Jow Forums manage to ignore it successfully

lolno. You are paying around 210 for 3600; add 30-50 to get 3600x.

Pricing was leaked across a few euro countries, some had 3600 as high as 220.

Don't fall for the lies of AMDrones, it's still a good deal but don't fall for their lies.

WHERE?!

I read that AMD will be killing off or slowing production of the 2000 series when the 3000 launches, while keeping the 1000 series going because the 1000 series are cut-down Epyc chips whereas there are no 12nm Epyc chips

LDLC but the sale is over

and what do YOU need? resin2 is overall better, better ram controller, + ~10% speed at the same clock, but for a budget workhorse 1700x is great value

1600 (zen1) is limited to 2666MHz RAM without overclock

Zen+ can use 2933MHz RAM without overclock.

I got my ryzen to 3.9ghz and 1.3v (1v on SOC)
do you guys think 4.0ghz is doable?
Is it even worth going up to 1.35v? (not going higher)

isn't all ram above 2400mhz an overclock anyway?

>they still haven fixed stanby list

higher base clocks, slight higher overclocking capability and of course better support for memory. Also the new features with the new chipsets.

Wrong. 2933MHz is standard for both, above that is considered overclocking.

>40€
lolno
They're gonna cost way more than 200.
I just got a used 2600 for 130.

>Why do I need 4K since I can use 1080p?
>720p is the sweet spot anyway

1080 is unironically the ideal resolution for any job unless your monitor is bigger than 27" then get 2K if you must. 4K is a meme.

You can OC monitors for higher refresh rates. Mine just goes from 60 to 77.

>latency
It's marginal at best.

Scroll down for latencies.

Far cry 3/4/5, dark souls 1/2/3, etc

Higher ram speeds.

4k is absolutely perfect for my 40" monitor.

that's a TV my friend

Is this exacerbated by RAM with bad CAS timings, or do they cancel out?

Don't you want to give AMD your hard earned money? Why don't you support them by buying one of the brand new chips?

Show your support and buy the newest chips or be forever labeled an incel shill

>big = TV
retard alert, there are a handful of 40" monitors if you're willing to pay.

More ESL lessons

2K is 1080p though

>1080p unless bigger than 27"
>27"
>1080p
my fuck, the horror, QHD starts from 24" and is ideal at 27" for most people
please, don't buy 1080p monitors in general, but at least not bigger than 24"

Disagree about 27", it's a much better size than 24" even at 1080p unless you have a tiny desk. Agree that 1440P + makes more sense in 2019.

27" 1080p is too big, everythings blurry as shit because pixels are the size of a small child
24" QHD is the same PPI as 15.6" FHD, which is standard for laptops, perfectly usable as a desktop monitor, but anything smaller would require scaling

You're a fucking idiot.

count those pixels, gramps
I bet once you thought you're the smartest man alive for connecting your pc to a 40" 720p TV

Absolutely not. Look at those 256 and 512kbyte numbers. That's the l2 cache change improvement there.
Also the inter ccx latency is horrible (pic related), that hasn't changed. Ryzen 300 has probably even more latency issues thanks to it's io die.

A X3450 can't even beat a Ryzen 1200.

ubishit runs much better on intel or wait for ryzen3
dark souls runs fine on any toaster

An x3450 is also like $10.
