So what comes after 10? No one actually believes in 50 years time we'd still be using Windows 10, right?

MS said W10 was the last WINDOWS
They didn't say the last MS OS

>we
who's we?

MS Doors 1.0, that's what.

"Windows"

Life has many doors, user

This. Next one is something completely new*, programmed from scratch* with a different name.

*(NT 11.0)

I mean he said

Which is business speak for "we can lie now"

wow

This. They're going the mac and linux route and preparing a "rolling release" Microsoft OS. The upgrades will just be upgrades.

It also probably still comes with wow64.

And will still come with a WIN32 emulator so it can run all previous Windows programs.

Makes you wonder, what will happen to older Windows applications (that won't get ported) when an entirely new OS comes out. Would they just emulate Windows in an internal VM for back compatibility?

We've done it before, we'll do it again.

windows 9

In 50 years time, we'll BE the Windows

If they actually did that I would shill it to kingdom come but is gonna happen as soon as Linux fixes it's audio and graphics management.

Why does everyone seem to miss the
> *(NT 11.0)
line?

They'll drop 10 from the name and simply call it Microsoft Windows. It'll probably happen long after Win7 is dead.

Because a man can dream?
