There are 4 times as many people in China and they're smarter than americans on average. There is no reason why they shouldn't become the greatest world power as they industrialise their way out of living in huts.
Lincoln Williams
Tge US seems to care more about social justice than technological progress these days. Might be a result of that.
Wyatt Bell
What do java pajeets have to do with supercomputers?
Adam Mitchell
China invested in education while the USA invested in financial scams.

This was the situation at one of our clients - Indian programmers writing php for a fuckin flower arrangement dropshipper. They almost lost VISA as their payment processor because their poojeet code got exploited and 2k cards were stolen.

Supercomputers are overrated. They have particular use cases, otherwise there are way better options out there.

2) country b is already a superpower and has x5 more the population
who is gonna produce more shit in the end of the day?
Blake Powell
slightly smarter yes, but they got insectoid slave mentalities. They can't innovate.
They also don't produce as many genius level people, they just have less morons.
Jaxson Parker
If believing that makes you feel more comfortable go ahead. There are plenty of innovative people in China (one only has to look at how since the iPhone came out, smartphone design has been steered by the east not by America).
Just consider where China was 40 years ago. It will soon reach and surpass America in terms of what gets created.
David Martinez
There's a reason private companies moved away from super computers. Surprisingly few workloads that actually need their advantages over ad hoc networked computer clusters.
Connor Sanchez
Our only advantage is that a good percentage of their best thinkers like prestige and money. So they go to school in the US and often get a job here. That's becoming less necessary as wages in Chinese cities increase.

I've lived and worked in china, it's shit, fake, soviet tier fake and national pride cope levels. Its days of rapid wild growth is over, the state is consolidating its power and setting forward the plans for the future, which makes sense given the state of the West now.
The difference is it's actually still getting better, while the West is just sinking to shit. Sold our roots and future for wealth, and now we aren't even getting a sliver of that wealth, just continuous deconstruction, rot and meaningless empty bloat.
Camden Stewart
They still come here in great number. That's why I said they care about prestige.

Good. American hegemonial claims and exceptionalism are a fucking plague. You're not the only country that matters. Learn to fucking deal with it like everyone else.

Because China was literally a fucking rice field until like 50 years ago. Most of the US tech giants have been established for decades, there's only so much you can grow before you're no longer making those juicy profit margins. Established companies also take fewer risks and trade high risk innovation and dumping huge loads on R&D for "stable growth". Also the US is fucking itself with all the protectionist bullshit they're practicing.
Now you take China which has an insane workforce, low production costs, government subsidies, reverse engineering (stealing) shit that western tech companies spent decades developing, established manufacturing infrastructure and you get that graph. They had a nice foundation of existing tech to start with.
Easton Wright

Direct fucking result of that. Those are indirectly funded by Chinese sources.
Who do you think funds this shit in governments? Who do you think lobbies the most now in governments?
Probably the most populated totalitarian government on the planet. The wall fell, but it was a battle, not the war that was "won".
Ryder Mitchell

So much low IQ in this thread.

China literally lobbied in the US, funded think tanks, manipulated currency and finances while trading with the US in order to destroy US capital and industries and gain capital for themselves.
Your government let this happen. Your corporations let this happen.

Sadly Communism seems normal in comparison to transsexual fetishized democracy.
Jason Ramirez
It's like we're being manipulated to destroy our systems and make them self destruct.'
Of course that's just conspiracy and accelerationism is definitely not a thing. Nor are there people that have such dirty paws that they might seek to drag the rest of the population into their cesspit.
Jace Lee
I disagree, communism lead to the latter. It enforced the latter indirectly to make it appeal better to some people.
Grayson Sanchez

Oh no, the destruction is a physical reality not a psychical one.

Funny how that the democratization of opinion has lead to transsexual fetishism and the consolidation of opinion avoids it.

Why is lobbying allowed to begin with?
Isn't it a conflict of interest?

This is just cope. Chinese bugmen are better at innovation than 2 digit IQ indians and other people we import now.

The US's economy is near self-destruction at this point. Both parties keep pumping debt and it's becoming noticeably less effective.

Yeah but the latter was forced by the former due to China's initial currency manipulation and due to the size of China.

Are you for real? Yes we owe some debt to china, but it's really not that much in the grand scheme of things. The culprit is medicare and social security which are both completely unsustainable.
Easton Walker
That's not at any level even remotely close to what I said you idiot. What makes you think I'm far left because I'm disappointed in having no meaningful representation?

Currency manipulation lead to a drastic decline in some industries with smaller corps that could not compete with China's artificial "competitive price". You can guess how that could impact taxation and the amount of people able to pay tax.
>The culprit is medicare and social security which are both completely unsustainable.
No it is China's currency manipulation that fucked our economy (and will soon fuck theirs as well). The only people in the US that "benefited" were the executives major share owners of the major corps that made their products in China. But of course, the real benefit did not exist. Less people are able to buy their products in the US because they've screwed with the distribution of currency. Overall, US lost in real terms from top executive to the lowest class.
China thinks it's had success here too, but this going to negatively impact the real growth of the economy in a big way to the point where they will now have a crunch too.
All this started with China continuing to manipulate it's currency even after seeing how similar situations impacted Japan and the asian tigers in the 90's.
Liam Harris
China totally fucked us and soon they will fuck themselves because of their inability to grasp economics.

China and free trade in general have certainly harmed our economy, but it's not the only thing. If congress spent money and actually invested in American jobs and citizens, we'd be way, way better off today. Certainly, China is a threat, but there is no reason why we have to go down with them. It boils down to retarded public policy that serves the interest of multinational corporations over its citizens.
Blake Thompson
>If congress spent money and actually invested in American jobs and citizens, we'd be way, way better off today
Instead they were sustaining them because they had no work user...
Why was that?
Probably because their jobs moved to China.
>but there is no reason why we have to go down with them
The economies are too entwined to pull that plug. We need a true economic plan between the two countries to sort this mess out. China needs to stop fucking with it's currency and we need to diversify the economies in both countries.
Problem - China is a single party state, how can we make sure they do what's right by the people and for the economy?
It goes further though. The legal enforcement in China lacks a real dispute system. You can't guarantee products from China without international arbitration clauses or similar neutral country dispute resolution systems. You can't guarantee that China's organisations would do what's best for the economy by such a system.
Globalisation does not work without the recognition of national state jurisdiction requirements and reasonable economic diversity and distribution in these national states. Over-centralisation is killing our economy, the irony is that we're doing that through an economic system we used to say was anti-centralisation (i.e. anti-nationalist). We just ended up producing a lopsided centralised regime. We need to break that regime into smaller parts or it's not going to function correctly.
Asher Powell
Obama unironically was the best President the United States ever had since Eisenhower and Truman.
>Saved the US from a Great Depression with Quantitative Easing. Republicans were claiming the economy was gonna collapse from QE. Instead, it averted a catastrophe as it happened in the European Union. The current (fading) boom is all thanks to Obama.
>Killed Bin Laden
>Pulled out of Iraq quagmire
>Created millions of jobs
>Deported more illegal immigrants per year than Trump (look up the numbers)
>Before Trump cancelled it, Obama was cucking China with the Trans-Pacific Partnership, it was invented to sweep all of SEA, Oceania and South America from the Chinese sphere of influence, redirecting trade towards the US. Evidence it was working was the fact that China panicked and was trying to come up with its own trade agreement alternative.
>Crashed the Russian economy with a single stroke of a pen as punishment for the invasion and annexation of Crimea which was in violation of 1990s treaties between America, Russia and Ukraine. Russian protests in 2014 almost bring Putin down. This led to Putin developing his trollfarms to influence the American elections in retaliation.
Chase Sanchez
I wonder what will happen when the info from the west dries up.
You see, the reason why the west got that far was that they had this thing called "free speech". China doesn't have that. It's trying to push that mentality in the west too, because it knows it won't be able to compete otherwise. We're gonna slow down to their pace now because they can't handle free speech.

No I think they might have attempted to soften China's manipulation to give more preparation time for the crunch. They saw China wasn't listening perhaps.
Still, that's a sign they simply lacked the guts to say the truth about the situation. My guess is the lobby persuaded them.
