Pay attention to the compression artifacts, especially the top of the wall and the transition between the floor and the black areas on the side.

Trying out mpv.net but this constant URL detection script keeps running every time I click over to the player and it's driving me insane. I can't find any way to disable it in the configs either.
Download the latest version. There is an url-whitelist on the settings/mpv.net section.

For ffmpeg
ffmpeg -i input.mkv -map 0 -c copy output.mkv
This will simply copy all streams from the input into a new MKV container. Metadata gets copied by default.
mkvtoolnix comes with a GUI (although it offers CLI tools as well), so you shouldn't have any trouble using it. Just open your broken MKV and save it without changing any settings.
