This but unironically. I don't know how long it would take to get fabrication facilities going but Nigeria actually has a technology sector to support at least an experimental effort at moving production there. Manufacturing in Africa or South America could hypothetically reduce costs related to shipping and logistics for products headed to American consumers and reduce the amount of ability China has to agitate against the West.

Africa doesn't have the logistics network. You need more than cheap labour to manufacture. You need skilled labor, a sophisticated logistics network and the raw materials/components prefably manufactured nearby
