Trying out gnome for a couple of weeks, I've actually got used to the workflow it's pretty neat.
Font in the terminal looks wonky now that I realize.
Jacob Robinson
thanks!
Tyler Price
I liked using GNOME, but since I discovered Budgie I haven't seen much of a reason to go back.
Benjamin Murphy
I've never tried Budgie is it worth trying?
I have always dismissed it because it's such a small DE I'd rather use something popular and well supported but might give it a go since I'm currently distro/de hopping
Nathan Wood
boop
Xavier Martinez
I'm having a pretty smooth experience using SolusOS with Budgie, I'd say it's definitely worth trying. The only issue I had is that it's very dependent on GNOME, it basically doesn't work if you don't have it installed.

I like gnome after installing a few extensions (such as dash to panel).
My issue with it is that extensions are often abandoned by their developers and if this happens with one that's important to you, you're just SOL unless you create another version yourself.
I like KDE but it's always been quite buggy for me when it comes to changing the appearance.
Blake Edwards
Too lazy to style Jow Forums right now

>I like KDE but it's always been quite buggy for me when it comes to changing the appearance.
try lxqt, it's basically kde without plasma. the panel is more flexible to theme while at the same time more lightweight and reliable. pic related

As i said in the previous thread, the best window manager is JWM. If you never tried JWM (or its nearest replacements, TWM and FLWM), you don't know what it means for a window manager to be powerful and lightweight. Once you try JWM, you will see what other window managers are lacking and you'll never go back.
Unlike most window managers today, which are focused on tiling and other gimmicks, JWM provides an extremely well structured config file that is very easy to modify especially since the defaults are self explanatory and its documentation is top notch. In addition to this, JWM ditches all extra plugins others have like CPU/Memory meter, themes etc. and lets the user build everything needed from ground up until the only ones left is the pager and the motif outlining which is not even a theme.
Thus, rather than focusing on autism like: compile from source, 1GB extra haskell dependency, gaps, KDE/Gnome integration, necessary high learning curve and gayland compatibility; JWM provides a clean, up-to-date, window managing environment with low memory usage that is truly suckless and puts the power user first by letting it to change everything the WM has to offer in an easy and short way.
So stop using faggy ass wms like i3.
Benjamin Hall
I really like how wmaker looks and feels. One day, i'll actually switch to it instead of trying to make xfce look similar.
Bentley Garcia
That actually looks pretty good. LXQt will probably be my next DE, depending how well xfce transitions to gtk3.
Justin Cook
Gabriel Phillips
Very nice, how does LXQt's settings manager compare to XFCE's?
Gavin Price
i can't say, it's been long since i've used xfce, but i think they are similar

I've been using this rice for so long, i think i'm bored of ricing
Joshua Gutierrez
I definitely gave up ricing. Happens when you find a rice you're happy with. Change wallpaper occasionally and that's about it.
Matthew Gutierrez
Yeah, i just change wallpaper when im bored and have pywal change all my colorschemes accordingly with it and that's it
Ryder Taylor
wow thats some cool stuff man

Here you go, user! Found in a "comfy" thread on /wg/

I always was, I just tried to rationalize it as faggotry, even though I was jealous of people who got to transition.
She's too pure for such things
Nathan Cooper

you cute?
Angel Rodriguez
No I'm not cute at all.
Noah Baker
are you not trying to pass or are you just being self deprecating?
Kayden Thompson
why would you transition and not try to pass
some of us are just doomed with masculine features
Bentley Davis
i wasn't sure if they were in the process of transitioning or not, forgot the term which is my b
also plenty of cis women have masc features and they get laid; it doesn't really matter unless you're trying to get with ben shapiro or something
Ayden Perez
Apparently I have a chance, but I'm not expecting to. I'd rather be an ugly hon than having to live as male in private.
Ayden Watson
that's the spirit! ill send you a fr once i get home from work or something
Henry Miller
hello andreas.
Jaxson Barnes
i don't even change wallpaper myself, i put bunch of cool papes from to dir and use a macro to randomly swap between them with feh.
Brayden Clark
society tends to disagree and i dont really want to get stared at like some freak of nature everywhere i go
Eli Sullivan
Thanks! I'm at work too, so it might take me a while to accept.
If I don't pass I plan to boy mode in public. You don't need to present as female in public to be trans.
Leo Hernandez
i guess i could boymode too
wont be able to get hrt for a while anyways though
Gavin Harris
gotta love lxqt
very nice & comfy
cute
very nice & professional looking
Michael Roberts
Same for me, but I'm removing body hair, learning my mannerisms, practising on my voice, learning to style my hair better, etc
There's lots you can do to transition even before you get on HRT.
I'm getting too off topic though. This should be my last reply.
Also phone desktop.
Jonathan Sullivan
Not the one you're replying to but I highly doubt you're hon tier user, you'll always be the worst judge of personal appearance because you'll always focus on the little things. You probably look fine.

You should modify your theme to fit your pape better. Or change your pape to fit your theme better.
The ricing rabbit hole is fun, and deep!

I use qtstep for window decorations, xfce-smooth for gtk and adwaita icons. Mostly stuff that comes with xfce by default, nothing fancy.
