I kind of want to go balls to the wall 300$ motherboard

>X570-A PRO is only $165 US.
Oh. That's not that bad.

I was worried I was going to be shelling out $400 for a “decent” mobo like the Asus Crosshair 8 Impact.

I’d be really excited if it was

My current gigabyte ab350 has shit vrms and poor ram options. Wanted to get something that supports alot 9f ram and has good vrms

how much is the gigabyte xtreme, I want no fan on the chipset

I dont know why you guys are suprised, prices were announced at computex

>paying $300+ for just motherboard with plastic all over it
>mfw buy an entire rig off ebay for $99 with an SSD in it and its fast enough for everything

Source?

You probably cruise around town in a fucking repurposed Crown Vic

lol i'm paying $450 a month on a brand new chink mobile actually

>tfw driving old police interceptor
get pushed off the road faggot lol

What's your argument? You're essentially interjecting yourself in a discussion about people who want z performance when you yourself are satisfied with x performance

Attached: dobon reaction.png (610x707, 95K)

>what's your argument
nigger detected

Attached: tenor.gif (220x313, 834K)

>those fucking fans
lol

Gamersnexus videos.

>tfw jews will still get you on the mb regardless

MSI, though...

Only ASRock and Gigabyte make horrible motherboards, ASUS is meh tier because shitty VRM heatsinks.

Still when it comes to x570 everyone made great motherboards.

What's a good alternative to ASUS? I've been really satisfied with my Crosshair VII.

I just want to see the prices for Asus motherboards already.

this.

Is there any non-house on fire mobo that doesn't go WHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

the only passive cooled one is the gigabyte extreme, there might be more in a few months but who knows
if you really want fanless get the gigabyte or wait a while and see if people start selling aftermarket heatsinks or if new boards show up

>Prices aren’t assblast retarded like I expected
You where gas lit into believing that $500+ motherboards are going to be a norm or any sort of average price

People are surprised because shills and shitposters keep posting motherboards like the MEG with the insinuation that this is what you HAVE to pay

163 usd for an msi x570 is pretty ok. all i need tho is the b550. whens it come out?

Charge your phone you fucking degenerate

How much are the Asus boards going to cost?

X370 Crosshair VI Hero is the redpilled choice for Zen 2.

Attached: 1463085245828.gif (250x251, 999K)

Sorry, your mom didn’t have a phone charger on her, mate.

Absolutely dominated

I'm just going with an X470 board. Fan is still a dealbreaker for me.

Why do people buy nice MB vs a b450?

when are the mATXs gonna be out
who gives a fuck about ATX

>people take shitposters seriously
I forgot that it was summer.

We already knew the prices where not bad from komplett.dk leak.

>poor amd shitters excited they can save a few rupees
lmaooo

pic not related I guess?

Where's the ASRock mITX one with Thunderbolt?

>WS ACE is 365 USD

Attached: 1558174497618.jpg (1082x818, 28K)

>not x470 crosshair VII hero
x370 isn't enough MUH VRM for me

Q1 2020

How do you know?

Attached: 1541390001071.jpg (1200x675, 74K)

Because 12 core

Any benefit other than Pci-e 4?

Why get it over x470/450?

It has 4+2 doubled. Same as some of these "entry level" x570 boards, should be more than enough to handle an overclocked 12 or 16 core.

I just bought a new x470 last week

Good VRMs no matter what board you get
MSI's most shitty X570 is an 8 phase, Gigabytes lowest end that we know of is a 10 phase
Any CPU you toss in will be able to hit it's max 24/7 OC with no issue, a 16 core maxed out may be the exception but if your buying a $749 CPU with a $150 board and planning to OC, what the fuck is wrong with you?

That link doesn't show shit.

>WS board ever being less than $300

>no mITX
Gigabyte it is

oh thanks buddy.

>tfw Crosshair VI I bought for $220 in 2017 can effortlessly power any Ryzen 3000
>tfw that shit still costs $200

Attached: autonomous collective face.jpg (254x198, 4K)

And yet, Jow Forums was constantly blasted by intcel shills screaming about "muh 1000 neetbux mobos!". Really makes you wonder about those OTHER things they constantly shitposted here as well.

>if you really want
Come on now. Why are you even saying that to ranjesh who's shilling for kiketel from mumbai on his pentium?

What does the ACE have that ROG Crosshair VIII Formula doesn't have?

AMD has really deincentivised spending any real money on a motherboard, at this point it looks that way
If all you are looking for is enough vrm for the best CPU performance just look for an x570 board, it doesn't even really matter how much you spend

Should I man up, sell my 8700 and z370 motherboard and get the 3600 with a sexy x570 board?

My x370 board is ok for 3950X with some airflow.
Whew, glad I pulled the trigger for a bit higher end.

Boy most of the 300 and 400 series boards are shit according to that chart.

Attached: x370.png (1179x392, 51K)

dreading the prices of this shit in australia

WS ACE is unoffensive looking
ACE will also probably be half the price

I think I'm going with x470 just so I don't have to deal with the fan. PCI-E 4 is useless to me anyway.

I see it has one less phase according to that unless im misreading it.

>Boy most of the 300 and 400 series boards are shit according to that chart.
When those board where designed it wasn't expected that there would be a 16 Core

It wouldn't matter really
There is almost nothing you could do besides LN2 or chiller that would strain either board

I may just get that board then god do I hate rgb.

Not unless you absolutely want to jump on the ryzen hypewagon. But that 8700 should last you a while longer.

Yet there were still boards that could smash it out of the park with a 3950X OC.
I feel alot better now with my choice of x370 motherboard seeing that I sprang for the 6 phases.

Though I'm probably going to skip the 3000 series and wait for the last king of the hill 16core 4000 series (maybe 4950X?) and not upgrading to AM5/DDR5.

No, you'll probably want to sell it for a 5000 series with a AM5 DDR5 board two years down the line.

Isn't ddr5 coming this year?

>Yet there were still boards that could smash it out of the park with a 3950X OC
Once you go above a certain price point every single board will have an overkill VRM just because
I don't think it was really that expected there would be a 16 core (I think the chart would look more like X570 if it was) but since enthusiast boards are all about excess those who spent some money for a board future proofed themselves

What the other anons said, unless you had a 4/4 or even 4/8 4th Gen or lower, you don't want to sell it already, unless you work with your pc, then ryzen should be much better for production. But yeah, wait one or two years.

What the fuck is this prissy faggotry? Chipset+VRM fans should've started to become a thing years ago, I'm damn glad to see them.

Meh. Why should I care about pcie 4.0 when 5.0 is also on the way? And will be for different cpus, not am4. Just going to stick with my b450.

No, not for consumers, most likely some time in 2020 as AMD says the socket is supported to 2020
We'll likely see last of the AM4 and the beginnings of the AM5/AM4+/DDR5 next year for AMD.
I'm gonna get the last AM4 king of the hill (4950X?) and then ride it out until AMD goes full MOAR CORES and bring a 24/36C CPU to the consumer market I think.

I regularly hit 50~90% usage on my 1700x so it's 16C or bust for me. I don't like the thought of rebuying 64GB of ram so soon.

My board was $160 bux when I bought it at near launch. It has 8 SATA ports, and then Asus went and removed 2 going to the X470.

I really only care because the WS can go 3 x8 4.0 for something like 1 GPU and 2 HBAs
wish they made one for x470 on 3.0

Attached: 1512869167048.jpg (987x947, 430K)

>I regularly hit 50~90% usage on my 1700x
On which workload?

Unzipping dolphin porn

}
Handbrake or premiere
Multiple VMs
Gaming/emulation+streaming/voice/video chat (not twitch or youtube)
As for the ram requirements...
Photoshop or CSP with a couple hundred layers spread across multiple files.

Just random shit
Idles at 6~9% CPU and 11~12GB ram with just browser windows open.

I've actually never seen winrar or 7zip use up all the threads unzipping things...
10bit 4K HEVC breaks 40% CPU usage for me.

where is that table from?
i’m going to get 3950x and am looking up on the boards

from According to that chart most non x570 boards are shit for 3950x OC and a handful will do it reliably stock

Holy shit what is wrong with reCAPTCHA today, more than 10 of those slow ass fade away and reappear captchas even if I get them all it just says try again what the fuck is happening.

>paying more than $100 for a motherboard

Enjoy shorting your PC under load

my $80 board from 2014 still works just fine

so which boards are suitable for 3950x? that was why i wanted to see the source

That gigabyte passively cooled one is the only sensible option, right? I mean the fan is just another point of failure added on to the board isn't it?

X470 Taichi [Ultimate]
ROG Crosshair VII Hero [Wi-Fi]
ROG Strix X470-F Gaming
Racing X470GT8
X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wi-Fi [rev 1.0/1.1]
X470 Gaming M7 AC
X470 Gaming Pro Carbon [AC]
Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming
X370 Taichi
ROG Crosshair VI Extreme
ROG Crosshair VI Hero [Wi-Fi AC]
Racing X370GT7

That's literally the whole list.

If you go Crosshair, expect $300+. I was looking at the Hero VIII today only to find out that they want like $370 for it. I'll put my upgrade on hold if everyone wants to jew that hard.

I want to see the pricing on the WS Ace. But some leaks are saying $365 and if that's the case, hell no i'm not buying.

Top 3 x570 boards???

The motherboard guide.

Attached: we did it reddit.png (1139x5016, 745K)

Why don't we see some nice 8+2 phases like in the FX days?

He's just a regular old AMD poorfag now realising AMD is no longer a bang for buck option

Take the Crosshair VI Hero redpill:
>great VRMs
>has 2 extra SATA ports as compared to VII Hero
>costs at least $100 less than VII hero
>flashback allows to flash updated BIOS for Zen 2 by USB, no processor needed

Ask yourself this - do you really NEED a >$200 AM4 board?

Gigabyte x570s are really good it seems.

>have to pay 1200€ for an AMD-Board
OH NO NO NO AMD BROS THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN

Attached: muh amd is cheap.png (986x1696, 598K)

What was the optimal ram speed for zen 2 to bring latency down again? There was a slide by AMD. Something with infinity fabric running 1:1 with ram cycles but if it was too fast it would be 1:2 or something.

DDR4 3733 CL14

You know how many recaptchas I had to fucking do to answer your stupid question that takes seconds to google?

Any reason to bother buying a x570 board over something like a b450 tomahawk if I don't intend to overclock? Probably going to get a 3700x or 3800x.
