That escalated quickly. Next up nearest, sinc and gaussian as advanced scaler configuration.

yeah baby

cringe

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah honey

Can i force this shit to keep my videos playing in one sized window instead of defaulting to whatever the videos size is?

Its pissing me off streaming shit and resizing the window everytime.

Forgot to add this part OP

Front-ends:
Windows: mpv-net.github.io/mpv.net-web-site/
Mac: iina.io/
Linux: celluloid-player.github.io/

shill

Read the manual, things like --geometry are the most basic of settings.

That is not the advanced setup OP. This is.

Advanced setup

profile=gpu-hq
scale=ewa_lanczossharp
cscale=ewa_lanczossharp

(use lanczos if you're comfortable with slightly more ringing for a bit sharper image)

Slowly entering autism territory

profile=gpu-hq
linear-downscaling=no
scale=ewa_lanczossharp
cscale=ewa_lanczossharp

glsl-shader="~~/FSRCNNX_x2_8-0-4-1.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/SSimDownscaler.glsl"

Now completely into autism territory

profile=gpu-hq
linear-downscaling=no
scale=ewa_lanczossharp

glsl-shader="~~/FSRCNNX_x2_16-0-4-1.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/SSimDownscaler.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/KrigBilateral.glsl"

And to go full autism

profile=gpu-hq
linear-downscaling=no
sigmoid-upscaling=no
scale=ewa_lanczossharp

glsl-shader="~~/FSRCNNX_x2_16-0-4-1.glsl"
# SSSR with Mitchell params
glsl-shader="~~/SSimSuperRes_Mitchell.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/SSimDownscaler.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/KrigBilateral.glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/adaptive-sharpen.glsl"

Stop copying each others retards configs for god's sake you bunch of autists

Why are you advertising paedofilia with your media player?

>This.
I have the feeling all those retards came right after mpv.net begin to get spammed by that nigger shill.
The question is which forum/reddit they come from?

In the past I've used a program called QTTAbBaR, one of the features was when hovering over thumbnails in file explorer (windows) the video would autoplay and zoom up, same with pictures.
But you have to restart explorer.exe often because CPU use acts like a memory leak, grows and stays like that.
With the versitility of MPV and the low resource usage, Reckon it could be incorporated into file explorer that way?

Autofit if you only want to specify the size, geometry if you also want to force a specific position.

I should've never posted those configs.

Is it possible to watch and save a video stream to a file at the same time?

mpv.io/manual/master/#encoding

Use icaros shell extension

Attached: icaros.jpg (1167x815, 99K)

I use that and it's fine software.
What I was after was the ability to hover zoom over pics and vids for quick browsing. So the picture would zoom to a set size etc.

Is there a way to reset all mpv options to default?
Let's say I mute audio, change sub position, etc, then press a button and all of the options reset to default taking both mpv defaults and mpv.conf into consideration.

Although these aren't common, these aren't terrible scalers. They're viable options if you'd prefer them. Personally I wouldn't universally recommend this as "advanced" though.

>85 open pull requests

>3.2383154841662362
jinc based zero

To be fair, nearest also has its use in rare cases.

I think you could argue that every option has a use in at least a rare case, doesn't mean it's a viable (default) option.

I have a hard time thinking of a reason to use a scaler like sinc and gaussian though.

No idea about sinc, pretty sure it's fairly similar to other scalers so I'd say that could just be preference, Gaussian for extreme temporal scaling though.

>Gaussian for extreme temporal scaling though.
Good to know. Thanks.
>No idea about sinc, pretty sure it's fairly similar to other scalers
It's actually quite interesting. It produces the sharpest results as far as I can tell, but in return you get some weird artifacts.

Maybe with profiles? mpv.io/manual/stable/#profiles

$ glxinfo | grep -i opengl
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Mobile IntelĀ® GM45 Express Chipset
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 19.0.8
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.20

Does that mean my toaster is too old to run gpu-hq?

Brainlet here.

What are some good settings for upscaling? keep in mind, I'm not an anime watcher though, so I don't know if that makes a difference. For Chroma upscaling I've been using cubic, image upscaling I've been using Lanczos.

Do you guys recommend I use Spline over those or?

Attached: 1542454779655.png (1092x1050, 158K)

profile=gpu-hq is all you'll need

This is what is in that profile btw
scale=spline36
cscale=spline36
dscale=mitchell
dither-depth=auto
correct-downscaling=yes
linear-downscaling=yes
sigmoid-upscaling=yes
deband=yes

unfortunately I'm an MPC+MadVR plebian that came here to try and disguise the question as an MPV one, so this really does me no good.

if I install MPV.net and I put profile=gpu-hq into the mpv.conf config will it change everything? or do profiles work differently?

actually tried this and it did not change my settings to these so I just did it manually. Thanks for typing it out, user.

Good luck then, madvr names it scalers like a retard.

The settings will be applied for every video. But some of those settings won't be triggered under certain conditions. like if you are watching a video at native resolution there is no need for scaling. So it will use the default which I think is bilinear.

Typing profile=gpu-hq is no different than typing the settings individually.

Probably... but you can try with deband disabled
profile=gpu-hq
deband=no

>I'm an MPC+MadVR plebian
NGU Sharp = FSRCNNX
NGU Antialiasing = RAVU
NGU (for chroma aka colours) = KrigBilateral

for the rest of minimal scaling matters, check this to get a general idea: mpv.io/manual/master/#options-scale

They achieve similar functions maybe, but they're absolutely not similar.

>they're absolutely not similar
I know, but the guy needs to get instantly the idea.

artoriuz.github.io/mpv_upscaling.html

Why did you post this?

Bilateral (for chroma aka colours) = KrigBilateral

>This.
Can you let us the adults do the talking, kiddo?

The fuck are you talking about? That just tests how the scalers compare to an upres, basically it compares how the scalers achieve the same function. Why did you post that link?

Don't ask me, ask the guy who interrupted us like an autist with that spam.

I asked the person I wanted to ask what he was talking about.

what a bunch of retards

fuck off

I have each media player setup to watch a different type of content.

CHAD

Thx

>mpv.net
virgin

all the same
why

As it turns out GSLS >= 1.3 is necessary to apply pretty much any advanced video config. Can't even change scalers.

update your dinosaur

>mpv.net
are Windows users actually this dumb?

It's not my main machine. Just an old laptop that I'm still very fond of. I never planned to use it extensively for media consumption anyway.

stay mad loonixtard

Guys I am using MPV built by shinchiro and the shell script that updates the player,automatically downloads 7zip and that drives me nuts, how do I correct the script to check if I have 7zip installed on my system?

Try stax76 builds

you could just use mpv profiles???

>best
>can't reach menu for video scaling, audio track, subs, audio/sub delay or anything else by moving the mouse all over or right clicking
nope.

mpv.net does not have this problem.

Attached: Menu.png (1764x1417, 1.27M)

Is there a gentoowiki article for setting up mpv with madVR etc like there is for MPCHC?

mpv doesn't need a 3rd party renderer like madvr
It's own renderer rivals it
start with profile=gpu-hq
There are more advanced filters here github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/User-Scripts#user-shaders
