Sup Jow Forums I posted about getting one of these bad motherfuckers the other day, it arrived just now. The pictures from the guy showed the monitor working as it should, and I can tell it’s the same monitor because it has the same cracks in the same spots, but now that I’ve hooked it up all I get is a blank screen and an orange light on the power button. Any ideas for what could be wrong before the duplicate poster arrives and shits up the thread?

How do I check that? What can I do with the brightness touch control other than press it? Also as far as I know the power LED should be white instead of orange, surely that must mean something but I’ve only found stuff about blinking, mine just stays lit up.

I think you might be right, I connected the keyboard directly to the computer and the Caps Lock key doesn’t even light up, but everything works with my laptop. How do I “mess” with the power supply though?

I had that same issue years ago Power Mac G4s have horrendous PSUs that have a shit ton of issues. It can no joke fry the mobo.

You can get the newer 2006 Power PC, or even the xeon mac pros for less than $50 at most recycling centers. The monitor is just hipster garbage and belongs at the recycling center. It's a crystal. They're often used as a reference to generate clock signals. I seriously suggest looking around to see what it got knocked off. It's very likely that this is one of the reasons the machine doesn't boot.
