Modern cases have a special slot for that and OP used a riser cable. It's a showpiece thing that serves no purpose other than to starve the GPU for air. Just 2019 things.

You mean the grey on the four corners of the fan? Pretty sure they aren't clips, it's just the housing for the screw.

It's an adapter made by coolermaster that uses your case pci slots. It isnt like new meme cases that stick it towards the side panel and suffocates it, it keeps it far back and allows better airflow through the case. It dropped my temps around 5°-10° average since the gpu is so close to the fans.
