Never. Next year with ps5/xbox4 even 2080ti will not be able to run 4k stable at 60fps.

quoting the wrong person
no, i just think you don't know what you're talking about :3
deal with it
60 fps is fine, the problem is 144 fps, also you run into chroma subsampling at 144hz/4k

schizophrenic samefag

Got me
>I want to do high end thing with midrange hardware
You'll have to wait until the high end has moved on to 8K but then you'll be posting "8K gaming on midrange GPU when" threads.
Can’t wait for the 16k gaming on midrange GPUs thread
4k is a meme. Human eye cannot see above 1080p.
The 2080ti can usually manage it.
Why're graphic cards so expensive? I bought a gt 1030 just to find out it won't allow me to use the 144hz feature
Wait. Can a GT 1030 not run Half Life 2 at 144 FPS?
actually I fixed just used hdmi at 120hz it's so responsive it's unreal.

Right now. My 1070 has no problem running older games like skyrim or borderlands 2 at 4k60. For more recent titles, you have to be smart with your settings to get a locked 30 fps, but it's doable by turning down demanding settings like shadows, msaa or alpha effects.
4k gaming is a fucking meme. 4k as a whole is also a fucking meme.
took 15 years to get to "1080p for $150 is standard"
wait another 10 for 4k
