If Hurd is a thing, why isn't it on GuixSD?

>names software after nigger continent animal
>tries to tamper to white men
Need a bottle opener, commie?

If only all the effort of Linux went into HURD instead.

The GNU OS would still be shit, no matter what.
It's not about what project to focus on.
It's about you'll never be able to compete with big software houses because they can offer more to the great talents than you'll ever be able to.
You'll always be relegated to the hands of subpar developers.

FTFY

>use debian
>make zero user configuration changes
>restart machine three times
>something already mysterious broken

Microkernel > Monolithic
Linux is highly overrated.

If it has USB support I am in.

Nice. Microkernels are the future.

Indeed, but probably not this one in the long run. Hurd is basically just "research OS" tier at this point, and it still uses mach, which is where all the microkernel performance FUD comes from (it's a slow, early microkernel).
I encourage everyone to take a look at this info about modern microkernels, with a focus on seL4 and operating systems security. With advanced cyber threats becoming more prominent, we need better-designed OSes for the future.

keep talking out of your ass.
(you) don't have any way to back that up.

Nah thanks I'll stick to Linux

seL4 developers are behind the FUD tho

What can I do with this shit that I can't with Linux?

>the future
Nobody is going to rewrite millions of lines of code and programs for a new OS when the current ones mostly work even if they are technically inferior. OS development is dead. What we have now is what we are stuck with until there's a nuclear war or something.

Better security, less bloat

I'm going to try and install it later tonight on my older laptop with a optical drive.

Maybe I can try and get Guix running too.

>oh who me?
>what OS am I running?
>psssh girl, you already know I'm running GNU/Hurd-Guix ;)
>so you down to bang or what?

> csiro
> provably secure
lol what. the aussie csrio has a pretty appalling track record when it comes to information security (they've been hacked so many times, lost so much data to the chinese).
>Firewalls treat symptoms, not causes of problems!
lol what x2
> imply over and over again that every os is not secure except for sel4
> pdf is a slideshow for industry retards
0/10. would not read this fucking cancer again.

no better than any other debian based distro, you dribbling spastic.

>gaybian
yeah, no thanks

>made by GNU
>less bloat

why would I want to run a system that's only probably secure

FPBP

home, at last

Hurd more like turd, lmao.

May Saint IGNUcius bless Debian

>have never published a line
>codecel

Theoretically, yes. In practice, debugging a microkernel is far more difficult.

GNU/Hurd GuixSD seems like the way to go tbhfam
