Bros I don't know what the fuck to do to stabilize it. INB4 I have a decent cooler.

As much as i like zen 2 (even though its a bit disappointing), AMD needs to stop lying about their fucking boost clock. Getting 4.6ghz only under unicorn dust ideal conditions with golden silicon is so rare that it might as well be a scam, i hate this.

And thats on only one core for a short time

I can't overclock, I have Zen 2

Adjust the voltage you dumdum
and by adjust I mean scale it up by 0.005V max and see if it doesn't shit itself

This is a really good thread.

Can someone post a reliable source on that? I can't seem to find anything and I was a bit curious to read about this fuckup

no issues since.

>mfw overwriting the godawful zero-fan setting of my r9 390 with afterburner, lowly +90mhz with no power increase
...because the fuckers at msi already dialed in the Vmax of 1250V, but shipped the card at a measly 40mhz oc over reference.

i swear, why does amd not have a EVGA-tier company in their ecosystem?

>1.4V on Vcore
yikes. is that under water? also very nice you passed 1200MHz. my chip starts artifacting above 1135 with 1.25V

those fuckers at msi put the Vcore to 1,25V, but only bumped the clock from 1000 to 1040MHz and my dumb ass ran it like that for the past 4 years.

>i5-6500

It should be illegal to gimp perfectly fine silicon like this.

i guess i can give myself absolution because none but the highest end bulldozers were competitive, but damn am i glad i switched to 2700x on launch.

I used to make them myself too

>is that under water?
No - I bolted a raijintek morpheus to my 290x and I seemingly won the silicon lottery - that card fucking drank electricity like americans inhale burgers but it clocked way, way above the average.

I once had it pass a single run of unigine valley clocked to 1250mhz core but that was fucking risky business as it was started artifacting in the last 20 seconds of the run. Sadly I didn't screenshot the power draw but i'm fairly certain it was pulling just shy of 400w (which is roughly what a +50% power limit is).

>those fuckers at msi put the Vcore to 1,25V, but only bumped the clock from 1000 to 1040MHz and my dumb ass ran it like that for the past 4 years.
The msi 390x is the highest clocked hawaii card money could buy - that thing must have a 400w bios.
