If you're gaming, the GPU will always be the bottleneck at maximum resolution and ultra details. You will be better off with a better GPU than a "better" CPU for gaming.

I'm being honest here, my first built CPU was a Pentium E5200, then before that, my family had a Celeron (Pentium 3 class) and a Pentium MMX.
