that bios looks incredibly stupid

works on my machine

>IT LOOK DUMB SO IT MISTAKE

@NPC71785896
back to your containment board, child

it does not have to look like that

BIOS is not bad because of UEFI
Almost always, it's bad because of poor feature description and features that barely work

fuck msi bios
this is the sole reason i'll never buy a msi board ever again

MSI was a mistake.
Gamer UIs were a a mistake.

UEFI is just fine.

they put a browser in the bios..............

Attached: japanese bird configuring bios.jpg (746x599, 172K)

The BIOS on my Z87-G45 is very similar.

Once you set up boot order and overclock your CPU and memory, you don't have to go in there anymore anyway.

What's the issue here?

Based Dell

>GUI bad

UEFI does not mean bios with a GUI you retard

>browser
Wtf what a time to be alive

>"internet message and mail browser"
>BIOS

O hahahahaha o wahahahaha
When will people realise MSI boards are just toys

You really don't need a uefi for that user

>he doesn't have a gaming bios that lets him game in the bios
yiked

Jokes on you my 11 year old Asus P6T Deluxe has a 64MB flash cart with basic OS functions, it's not UEFI but that feature is practically "built in BIOS browser" with how fast it loads.

>MSI
Found your problem.

I have a 2012s laptop that could do either BIOS or UEFI boot
Is there a reason to boot with UEFI? That's like 150 - 500 mb space taken that BIOS doesn't

god I wish that were me

indeed
laptop is EFI+CSM
the ROM setup program on it is still very much text based

heh... leave the hardcore shit to the gamers, kid...

>not running all your programs in pure machine code on bare metal
>not wanting your browser to be as fast as possible
uefi is bloat, bios is bloat, assembly is bloat.

>UEFI internet browser

better than chrome

>browser

>implying it isn't chromium based

audible KEK

yikes it looks like a windows xp program

Having a browser in your bios actually seems really useful should you have an issue and need it.

Attached: ball.jpg (10x10, 667)

Having a browser is kinda cool, since it helps you out in searching for motherboard specific configs, errors and actions that are not written on the manual. Problem is, browsers often are riddled with security exploits and such

Everyone has a phone though.

You say that as if it were a bad thing.

I use the browser on my phones bios

Uefi has nothing to do with it being gaymur rainbow galore. Well, it does in the sense of allowing it, but that's all. My old fake thinkpad has uefi, but it looks like generic old blue bios. The board with built-in ulw celeron thst i'm using for home server also has blue bios, except it looks different.

just use your phone, dumb retard nigger

>owning a portable botnet

He said on fucking Jow Forums after completing the Google Captcha. If only he was self aware.

on my phone no less

> Internet
> Message and Mail
> BROWSER
what could possibly go wrong here? based MSI fucking retards.
no, it's not, you fucking idiot. it's a huge security problem. EFI should not be talking over the internet, even for updates! when will you clueless fucking faggots ever learn?

>CIOS
(Convoluted Input-Output System)

>internet browser in the fucking UEFI
is this peak Z77?

>Internet Browser
Jesus Christ, why even bother installing an OS at that point?

fuck Linux, fuck Windows, i post on Jow Forums from my Z77 bios

based biosposter

>literally uses a open source freetard UI theme
>haha sex piss xD

>throwing in freetard for no reason
Fuck off to /v/ retard

Yes, that's why libreboot needs to be a thing

you may not like it but this is what peak BIOS looks like

>not buying a Asus motherboard
Enjoy your shit UEFI interface

DELL's BIOS is fucking top tier

based

Be glad it doesn't have ads. Yet.

Clearly you don't belong dumb fuck, back to Twitter

Good thing you can get a free downgrade if you're using AMD

Attached: .jpg (1474x682, 168K)

true, it's overcomplicated bloat made by Micro$hit.
MBR just works.

same

Fpbp

no it's not
if there's a vulnerability it'll go straight to your firmware

is this the future?

Yes, and it sucks so much even the machines don't want to "live" in it.

why do people from Taiwan have horrendous tastes in graphics design?

Maybe now I can finally get into my MSI bios settings without having to reboot 20 times because the interface screwed up and is either not showing buttons, corrupting graphics, showing Chinese characters or a combination of the three.

MSI was a mistake. ANUS' UEFI looks just fine.

>Browser
Lol wtf? Who browses the web and checks email on their BIOS?

This BIOS is a fucking nightmare to use and tons of the options are interconnected so you can't toggle one unless you toggle like three others in some totally different menu.

Say you need to figure out this exact setting, and you don't have second device. Now you have to boot into OS using default settings because your changes don't post, only to check what might be wrong.

>interconnected
Cells. Interlinked.

A browser in the firmware would actually be really nice if everyone didn't have computers in their pockets now. Still pretty neat though I'm sure it's an awful idea security-wise

I'm gonna play DOOM on bios.

Nah, it is shitty GUI that tried to appear to zoomer idiots who pretty eye candy over function.

Fortunately my Gigabyte board has a no-frills advanced mode that gets the job done. The ironically name "EZ mode" is a nearly worthless obnoxious garbage.
