>nostalgia about CDs
Fucking CDs? Are you for fucking real? Is your life that hollow, empty and worthless that you now need to shit up Jow Forums with facebook tier OnLy TrUe 90s NiGgErS GoN rEmEmBeR tHiS?

Barely a zoomer, but I still have my stack of burned debian/mint/ubuntu cds from middle school/high school

cd cases like that are everywhere still, i don't get your point

cds and dvds are garbage storage mediums. floppies, tapes, and now solid state again are all vastly superior.

Floppies are unreliable garbage. CDs were more reliable.

>cd cases like that
>Zoomers pretending to understand

>nostalgia about CDs
Just the holders

They're called spindles, you zoomer trash.

I still use DVDs for backups.

>itt: zoomers larping as boomers

>floppies
>are all vastly superior
Are you on drugs?

tapes are the only way to go for long term storage

Why did you greentext that? Why don't you understand what LARP means?

>Sips, monster
Son did you ever played doom on this.
Doom is a good game.

You must be 18+ to post on this website.

It's been so many years and I still haven't tried out the bagel spindle.

Do you people not realize zoomers were born from 1990-2004? Most of them know that feep

Redpill me on this or it didn't happen.

Dad, this is an antique. It doesn't even make a good use of the mouse.

I bought a pack from a supermarket around 2012.

Live USB bootloading is black magic and I refuse to use it. DVD is still the best technology for ISOs.

Attached: 702.jpg (476x320, 50K)

Yea this bad boy could hold some Kilobytes.
And you let it load up on your computer.

With this cassette player.

It's not so much that I would refuse it, it's just that the last time I've tried I couldn't get it to work so I simply dug my installation DVD back up.

Zoomers will sadly never know how it feels

Zoomers will never understand how it feels to open your pc and double click on "burning negros"

Tape drives are expensive.

I've been posting here for 12 years. Why do you you greentext your post for no reason and why do you mistake LARP for RP like someone who has not been on the internet for more than a week?

>Such a big boy! Growing up so fast!

>tapes are the only way to go for long term storage
Lol, tapes have a very long history of crapping out and pealing off their plastic backer. Ask the guy who had all those Usenet posts on tape from the 1980s. His shit was falling apart in the 2000s.

I don't know if it's the best but I was using DVDs until my stash eventually ran out and I was too lazy to buy more. USB it is since then.

>shitting on CDs
Fuck off steamnigger

Junior go to bed.

How it feels to use a CD or how it feels to put a CD post up your ass?

I used DVD extensively for years but the capacity is just too low for video content, even blu-ray still isn't enough unless you pay out for 100GB discs. I moved over to tape instead since the cartridges can be re-written to multiple times and I can cycle them. 4TB of tapes cost me about $50 which'll be enough for back-up/archival of more important content for now.

>CD
Plebian, compared to a 12 inch one that holds analog video, analog audio, digital tracks, and Dolby Digital/DTS - on 1970s media.

I have the Dirty Pair laserdisc box set.

Attached: laser.jpg (480x480, 46K)

Same. 100% zoomer aswell.
In 2012 all the isos had bloated to 3+ GB so I had to hunt down minimal distros that would still fit on my stack of CDs. Made me pissed.

I stuck the spindle part in my ass, not as much fun as you'd think

You need to be over 18 to post on this board

Over 18 centuries?

>zoomers will never know how it feels

i love thowing cds at walls. they fly perfectly straight and disintegrate in contact with your bedroom wall

Optical media is trash that only existed because it was far cheaper to produce than flash or magnetic media. Poor capacity and shelf life also played a part in the mass switch to cancerous digital delivery and SaaS practices.

you can buy a 256 M.2 drive now for

2TB is still expensive enough that I'm waiting another year

I didn't install my DVD drive about 7 years ago and never felt the need to.

zoomer here. i know how mp3 discs feel

Hell I've never even adopted bluray and still use a dvd drive to watch my old dvd collection, as well as other things since I got things dating back decades.

How does it feel? Asking for an acquaintance haha

peak comfyness right here

its called soul

I'm sitting next to a stack of burned discs right now.

it's a lot nicer on UEFI systems, but it's still black magic

I remember throwing a CD at the wall as a kid and being really disappointed when it didn't shatter into pieces like cartoons always depicted it.
It just bounced and dented the drywall a little.

>I've been posting here for 12 years.
only newfags go around claiming they've been here for years, no one cares

i still use cd dvd bd

I recently moved all stuff from my burned dvds to backup drive and drestroyed them all. CDs/DVDs are unreliable, slow as fuck, and rot over time. I had them only because some 15 years ago I could not afford big HDD.

please moar, on what player these big reels of tapes?

But how do they play music from their huge binders of music CDs that they throw in the back of their car when pickin up chicks, drifting through their neighborhoods with the underglow on?

To lose data?

Man I wish my ps1 didn't die. I had a spindle full of games I spent some time making sure were decently ripped and burned. But the prospect of audio cutting out and adjusting the potentiometer without any proper tools was a bit of a headache. Nowadays if I wanted to do the same I would need to use my shitty lg writer on a PC that no longer has space for that and use my pstwo instead unless I want to spend money.

Or, I could emulate and play my personally curated collection of 237 ps1 CHDs.

This. I hate floppy disks.

I know a cnc programmer who used to use tape to make programs in the old days

Supposed to be IBC, but I've been on ebay for 6 hours looking up workstations.

>Zoomers will never know how it feels
How it feels to throw away a few hundred burned discs because they are bad and wonder why the fuck you wasted all that time copying shit to CDR/DVDR?

Sony literally fucking memed away months of my life.

i literally never had a burned cd fail me

I've gotten enough IO errors on them to just give up and throw it all away.

Few hundred PSX few hundred Dreamcast few hundred movies. CDR/DVDR are literally a fucking joke, they all go bad 10+ years down the road.

die, retard

>Zoomers will never know how it feels
You stuck the spindle up your butt too?

>look at my oldschool blueray holder, i'm such an adult

wow, nice one grandpa
