If they are both the same size in " diagonally that's like a 60% bump in DPI, its a pretty huge upgrade.

and 110PPI sucks, and 20" sucks. If you actually care about image quality on a PC you want ~96dpi or or ~192dpi or some multiple to avoid blurry mess of linear image scaling, and 20" offers fuck all realestate so you may as well stick to a phone.

they have in my experience, the only 1080p monitors around are in offices too cheap to upgrade. My work laptops have had 4K for years now. I havent seen a designer at work without a retina mac or some high dpi display for a long time.

This is due to font rendering being garbage in most cases. On Windows it's quite sharp but web browsers use their own shit and the only one that does it correctly is Firefox (and its forks). macOS recently changed sub-pixel rendering settings so that it looks like crap on a 1080p display, can be changed but it's still not pleasant. On linux the defaults are mostly shit in plenty of cases and you might need to deal with patches and stuff like that.

Seriously PPI are important if you want to read shit. Scaling on a 1920x1080 screen makes everything look too fucking big at 125% and takes up valuable screen estate. That's why it's best to grab an appropriately sized monitor at 2K. Not as expensive and games run better at this resolution than 4K.
