Rx 5700 xt is on par with 1080ti and 2070 super when undervolted and overclocked, even with the shit tier blower cooler

>rx 5700 xt is on par with 1080ti and 2070 super when undervolted and overclocked, even with the shit tier blower cooler
>sapphire rx 5800 and rx 5900 xt with proper cooling coming soon (tm)
Holy shit, the absolute mad men are going to do it. They're going to release a Navi 20 chip with double the die size and it's going to light the biggest housefire of the decade, completely, utterly, and irreversibly btfoing NoVideo in the process.
Are you ready Jow Forums? Are you ready for the 500W furnace that's going to outperform the gtx 2080ti?

Already got plans to buy one. Mainly because I'm sick of dealing with NVIDIA proprietary drivers on Loonix.

Wow, only an absolute idiot would buy Nvidia, even though they've outperformed AMD for the past 15+ years. Holy shit, AMD is top of the line! Nvidia is finished this time, for real!

Why does past market dominance effect what to buy now?

Even when amd was ahead of novidya retards like you showed you were glad to buy novidya and get boned.

>Even when amd was ahead of novidya
A generation of children have been born and turned into adults since this has been the case. What's really fucking insane is believing marketers and sponsored reviews and spending money on a brand that constantly gets shit on by Intel and Nvidia alike. I'll pay extra for a brand that has consistently performed, thanks. I consider that spending money wisely. Only a child buys into hype and throws money away on inconsistent garbage. Just got to a casino if you like gambling.

>muh brand

Youre a fucking retard and what youre saying isnt even correct. Plenty of times amd has beaten nvidia in GPU price/performance and people continued buying novidya. 7k series, 4k series, 400 series, 500 series etc.

>it is on par with the competitor's card from 3 years ago when you overclock it to the max
It's a good card, but why is this so terribly impressive?

>muh brand
Is exactly what you're doing, faggot.

>Plenty of times amd has beaten nvidia in GPU
Yea, name them.

Because it's not like they've really outdone that card.
>but muh 2080
>paying extra for placebotracing

>name them

I literally did. Look at how popular the 970.3.5 was compared to the 390 that has lasted far better and could be had same price, or even the 290s.

Look at steam hardware survey. Dumb plebeians dont buy amd even when its the better option.

Wow, so in the past 15 years, that is all you can come up with?
>which isn't even true, btw
Simply embarrassing. Hope AMD is paying you well for this.

Cope
More cope.
>Nvidia sells a 106 series chip rebranded as a 70 card for $500 for a full year before finally replacing it with the proper 104 variant AND it gets beaten by amd's $400 reference card
>n-no no no, don't buy that goyim, our gpus were good once, so buy our obsolete overpriced trash
>Yea, name them.
Right now
Because that card launched at $700 and you can't mod it. Amd will have an expensive high end gpu and it will definitely beat the 2080ti. The rx 5700 xt has a bit over half the die size of the rtx 2070s and it beats it. It's literally a 10 series half card, the Navi 20 will btfo everything

2080 Ti is 25% more powerful than 1080 Ti, and RTX Titan is a decent bit more powerful still. Of course they're too expensive to justify upgrading my 1080 Ti, but they're still very good cards.

>7k,4k, 400 series 500 etc.

Youre not being funny shill.

>Just pulling cards out his ass
Lol, keep going Drone. Nobody believes you.

>the Navi 20 will btfo everything
AMD® Just Wait™

>pulling cards out his ass

Oh yeah the 480 was never a much better value than shitvidya I made that up. The 390 8 GB of vram wasnt better than 3.5 I made that up.

>muh value
So in other words
>Yea it performs worse, but it costs less!

Take a walk, son. Quality is worth the price. If you want to be a budget bum, just keep doing what you're doing.

>who cares about price its all performance

This only exists in fantasy land. Everything is price to performance or wed all have 2080tis right now. Fucking retard.

The 970 was extremely popular and performed worse than the 980ti and 980 why do you think? Cards around that price were and are the mainstream cards and in the mainstream card market amd has frequently beaten nvidia.

>Le Budget Gamer
That should be your new youtube channel.
Poor people always seeking a deal need to have a voice too!

It's literally being produced as we speak, retard. The little baby 5700 xt beats nvidia's 2070s which is not that far behind the 2080. There will be at least three tiers above the 5700 xt and there's only one tier above the 2080.
I'm sorry that you're in denial because of your buyer's remorse, but you really shouldn't take it out on others by having an autistic meltdown on fourchannel dot org.

Are you proud of being stupid?

You know nothing kid.
I had one 5990 amd dual die card. 440w

>I consider a $700 computer part to be a status symbol and a good indicator of wealth
Growing up in the slums must have done a number on you, I'm sorry user. You might be a worthless shitskin but no one truly deserves that.

>s-stupid!
s-s-shitskin!

I see you Drones are backed into a corner. You simple people sure do lash out when embarrassed.

You always wait for next gen consoles to come out and then you buy your new hardware.

Is it in stores? Then show benchmarks instead of speculating. No? Then we all have to Just Wait™ and the meme applies.

>25% faster
>literally twice as fucking expensive

Gaytracing was a mistake.

Attached: warped perspective.jpg (524x568, 91K)

It's not even true raytracing either.

It's ultimately the future of lighting in games, but right now it's a stupidly expensive and nerfs framerate too much.

In all seriousness the 5700 xt consumes around 150W at 1800ish mhz with the undervolt, probably goes close to 200W at 2000 so I'm expecting the 20 card to have at least a 300W tdp and not have quite as much OC headroom as the 5700 xt.
>backed into a corner
>by a delusional favela dwelling retard who thinks having a $700 net worth is impressive
>it's not real, it's not real I can't hear what you're saying lalalalalalalalala
Sad. The 5700 xt is in stores and it runs circles around your housefire that's 25% more expensive. Try explaining that away, go on

>The 5700 xt is in stores and it runs circles around your housefire that's 25% more expensive.
You already said it's on par with a 3 year old card and that we should Just Wait™ for the 5900 xt.

It's on par with a 3 year old card that was 75% more expensive on launch, and it's on par with a 0 year old card that just launched at a 25% higher price. I know english isn't your first language, but please either make an effort to improve your reading comprehension or leave this forum at once. I'm sure there are many wonderful forums in portugese or indian or whatever gobbledygook you speak natively.

Yea. nvidiafags pay 2x more for a feature they don't use.
Say what you want nvidia but at least they are good at scamm... I mean marketing.

That moment when a gpu/cpu comes out that gives you 10% more perf for the same price. Get your wallets and upgrade!!!! You need this product to be happy. You need those 10% extra frames on your life.

Why get the 20xx when they just put out the 16xx series that is cheap as fuck?

Attached: 1560193989309.jpg (1003x900, 84K)

Why did they sacrifice the launch like that though? Sure the partner cards will probably be some 10% faster with potential further OC headroom but in all reviews(apart from pro-amd ones like hardwareunboxed) of other cards they will have the reference model results. They also never really advertised or even talked about RIS and it was up to some reviewers to actually find out it's pretty damn good. Gamersnexus and Linus will never give enough of a fuck about AMD cards to even mention it and they are the biggest PC tech youtubers out there

Because 20xx performs better than 16xx
2060 isn't even that much more expensive than a 1660ti last I checked either

>AYYMD has always beaten NVIDIA plenty of times
>Shows no sources
>Goes back to the default Just Wait™
Typical AYYMD drone.

>Are you ready for the 500W furnace that's going to outperform the gtx 2080ti?
It's certainly good tidings for AMD but Nvidia is nowhere near the trainwreck that Intel is in right now. Remember Nvidia can go down to 7 nm whenever they want and as you pointed out their power efficiency is still better. Turing is garbage, but Nvidia can actually try to be competitive next gen if Navi is flying off the shelf this year. Hell if they really wanted to they could just give us a full die for the first time in like 5 years.

Still I'm much more optimistic than I was about Polaris or Vega.

It definitely is.

Outperformed by 20% at double the price now. Yes only an absolute idiot would buy Nvidia. Sadly there's plenty of those around. That's why the Titan's sold.

Doesn't look so bad to me.
In Australia here it's $639 vs $959 for 2070 Super
I'd want to get a custom cooler though.

>500W
This guy got RX 5700XT @0.99V, 1830Mhz, 72-74C, 155W with the shit reference cooler
That's pretty good. With decently tuned aftermarket cards they can really do a lot with that chip without any housefires
He's really annoying to listen to but anyway:
youtube.com/watch?v=czHvAhG4xTc

Do you know how many headaches Geforce Experience has caused me? You ever had an Optimus laptop? Nvidia really isn't any better in regards to drivers and software.

One thing in AMDs favor is while they don't innovate on architecture often, it means older cards hold up longer. Meanwhile my old Kepler and Fermi cards can't handle newer titles at all, and more often than not driver updates break them.

This has been the case for the better half of the decade. Turing is actually the biggest generational leap nvidia had since Thermi. But then nvidia went and rebranded their cards, added a marketing gimmick and priced them two tiers above what they should have been. The 2070 is a 106 chip that has traditionally been $250 WITH margins, but they've been selling it for $500 for a year. The super cards are what the 2070 and the 2060 should have been, and they're still overpriced because of rtx.
Nvidia managed to turn a huge IPC gain into a situation where they sold 2016 performance for 2016 prices in 2018, and now a year later they're giving us a ~10% performance increase.
And the only reason we're even getting that is Navi. Rdna is going to change the incremental upgrade trend because nvidia have the technology and the yields to bring out cards with much better value, and they'll be forced to actually do it this time.
I'm pretty sure it's because the 7nm yields aren't good enough that they can afford any kind of decent binning with their current margins. The cards uv and oc so well because instead of binning the cards they just overvolted and underclocked them. So there's some percentage of cards that don't undervolt well at all. These would have been thrown out if they used more aggressive stock settings, but this way they all perform at least as well as amd's spec, and you can't really complain that the card you got only goes as fast as specified.
They're bringing out the gimped mid range cards first, and they're going to bring out high end properly binned cards once the yields are better, or they make enough money on these cards, or whatever they're waiting for. Those ones won't uv and oc as well because they'll be closer to their limit at stock, but like you said the stock settings will be used in benchmarks, so they will generate more positive press.
>they could just give us a full die
I'm pretty sure they have to at this point

>Yes only an absolute idiot would buy Nvidia.

Attached: 1462590232259.jpg (1445x6771, 1.8M)

What do you need GFE for anyways?
I've never had an issue, though I prefer v2 from 2012-2015.

>AMD's last longer than Nvidia in GPU because they do not innovate as much.
Source.

>burn

...

Why is this allowed? Why are people allowed to gimp products after they've been bought?

>heaven benchmark
Heck, even my 1070 runs at ~50°C during that shit, get some real games or workloads.

>I'm pretty sure they have to at this point
Remember we're in a bubble of tech savvy people who really analyze these things.Navi needs to draw in the zoomer crowd to make waves.

I plainly admit there's a large uninformed market segment that isn't going to give Navi a fair look, and even if they do Nvidia can put out a competitive product if needed.

How many microarchitecture changes have there been across generations of GCN? Why was backwards compatibility so important for the design of RDNA? A big part of Radeon's designs is based on their semi-custom market for consoles, and backwards/forwards compatibility is vital there. Xbox One and PS4 were Polaris (GCN) based and next gen will need to be backwards compatible which is why that's so vital to Navi (RDNA).

Attached: 1543937900010.jpg (848x1200, 159K)

they didn't out perform during the gtx 400 series and amd's 5000-6000

Just wait for the next NVIDIA gen release. It'll shit all over the 5700 series.

I've had half a mind abandoning my planned mITX build (GPU can't have length above 210mm in the case I was going to use) by selling the used 1080 Ti mini I got for a higher price than I got it and get myself a Navi card, but I guess the extra vram could still be handy as I wait and see what a fully RDNA Radeon card in the future can offer.

A fully AMD build would still be cool though. Especially since I'll be trying to mainly game on Linux.

Why is Vega 56 still over $350? All I want is a cheap but decent card for my Linux box that would be an upgrade from the 960 that I currently have.

Wait you think it's embarrassing that AMD dropped Terascale in 2015? You think a GTX 580, a Fermi card held up that year? My Kepler cards were breaking every patch since then!

This happened to me on an nvidia card you cuck

Oh yeah, anyone else remember how broken Dark Souls 2 on Steam was at launch?
