I dont know a lot about loudspeakers.
Currently I'm looking for a nice 2.1 setup because 2.0 would either be immense or small and have no lows whatsoever.

What worries me about specs on most 2.1 is
>Freq response
>Subwoofer 20-120
>Speakers 140-20k

What's going on in between 120-140?
Is it an awkward silence or maybe the speakers do half of the job and the other half does the sub?

Does generic 32" lg tv hooked to my pc with $15 10m hdmi cable counts as home theater?

It probably works

>Really retarded snake-oil audiophool bullshit exists therefore audio doesn't matter
Is this some sort of laptop speaker cope?

Where are you getting the impression that there would be a gap? Any decent 5 inch speakers will be able to reach way down below 100 (unless they're arbitarily cut off) and any good sub will have a LF crossover that you can set yourself. There won't be any magical missing frequencies.

Yes.

The best sound kids these days heard was from a jbl Bluetooth speaker.

Well i heard that some systems can have poorly crossed over speakers and missing bands so I though that might be it.

What do you think about Eddifier S350db?
Is that the superlux of loudspeakers?

If you're buying a particularly poor 'all in one' then yeah, I suppose that could be true. Never heard them, but they're relatively cheap and aimed at PC g*ym*rz so I wouldn't expect them to be anything particularly amazing, but they might be nice for the money for all I know. I really have no way of knowing. If the specs are to be believed, it doesn't have the issue you're worrying about.

>lower noise, increase dynamics, remove haze and open up the top octaves

I'm looking to graduate from Swan M10s to some real speakers. Are the JBL LSR305P Mk II as good as people say or are they overrated to hell and back by people who don't know any better, like the ath-m50? I've read people criticising the amplification (they are known to hiss a bit) but other than that the only obvious criticism I can throw at them is that they're quite ugly compared to the competition.

Reading up on popular mods can maybe point at what 'hardcore' consider its weaknesses.
Although what is doable and fads will be factors too ofc.
Don't they like to dampen the inside of that horn with some putty or something?

>LSR305P
Freehand pointing a microphone at the speaker in a random ways comes back with some of the best measurements I've ever recorded, this pattern control is god like. Bow down to your new waveguide overlord.

>Don't they like to dampen the inside of that horn with some putty or something?
I was under the impression that the Mk II addressed this.
Never heard of this guy, but he seems thorough and his recommendation is glowing. Maybe I'll stop fucking around and just pull the trigger already.

Only if you have some kind of audio better than headphones or two /csg/-tier speakers on your desk. You need at least 3.0, preferably 5.1.
