dual booting is an ancient concept. These days if you really need Windows that bad for some reason, you virtualize it. If you need it for video games then you pass your GPU into a VM. I seriously cannot take dual booters seriously in 2019

I have a Windows drive but I haven't booted it in over a month. I go through phases where I'll exclusively use Windows for a while, but right now I'm spending my computer time in elementary OS.

video playback, specifically on browsers, is just trash.
i livestream a lot of sports, and it's always choppy as fuck on firefox, no matter which compositor i'm using, hardware acceleration on or off...shit just sucks.

It's the one thing i haven't been able to fix and it really fucks my ass.

I use Chrome, it's botnet but it includes all the various codecs required and even includes a version of flash if you really need that (disabled by default). If videos are tearing, it's usually a result of your compositor. GNOME/Pantheon/Budgie's is quite good, as is KDE's with correct settings, while MATE's default compositing and XFCE's also is dogshit. But those last two can be rectified with compton.

I'm not sure about Firefox, I had some trouble playing youtube videos when I tried switching to it, but maybe that's just Google intentionally sabotaging the competition. I'm sure if you get the correct codecs it would work just like on Wangblows, they just don't bundle the codecs for Freedom reasons on GNU/Linux.
