Think twice before posting a pic from facebook.

So does iOS and Android. Text boards are the future, for this reason and also because of CP spammers and copyright laws.

what a shock, if you're as normie as a facebook user, you deserve it.

An app specifically or the system? I actually use a small app in android that removes all the exif metadata.

>zomg jpeg comments embedded into the world's premier user tracking system is a thing!!!
strip the metadata my nigga

those damn NIGGERS

So, I upload a picture and fb adds some metadata to it..
Fucking so?
What is the actual data being stored.

It could be picture information like color, rotation, or it could be my IP and system specs or the list of my facebook friends.

Which one is it? I'm guessing it's just useless data, like what album the picture is in, or color profiles etc etc.

Stop being paranoid.

It's probably some sort of id so they can track the image being posted to other websites or reposted to their own.

The question now is if we can use this thing for the greater good, like finding the Facebook of the girl in the pic.

Are you using uMatrix? Uncheck "Spoof tags when 1st-party scripts are blocked"

if you use uMatrix, you can alternatively uncheck Spoof tags

don't work

exiftool.exe -all= -r -ext jpg -ext png -ext gif
E:\Pictures

show umatrix screenshot.
works here.

this works

It's in the ToS you voluntarily agreed to, Zuckerberg did nothing wrong.

You have gmail tabs open and think anything you do is private?

>embeds
didn't Jow Forums remove meta data n shit

has anyone verified that screenshots taken by macOS and iOS don't embed tracking data?

what exactly?

This has been known for years, it used to be a big debate back in 2012 where there was a wave over Facebook photo ownership. That died down because you literally use their service
>I bet we even had Jow Forums posts back then too

to add, back then when this was brought up, people left and right were questioning who actually owns the photos that get uploaded. People moved to Twitter before they found out it's on there as well

>Obtains offending image
>print screen, or copy the image into photoshop and then save it
Problem solved. What's the issue here?
