9900k + 2080ti

Weird upgrade path. Started off with the gtx 1070 but got envious over the gtx 1080 which was just a few hundred dollars more. Sold the 1070 and bought a 1080.

2017:
Was interested in SLI at the time so wanted a x16/x16 config which is why I went broadwell e. Sold my gtx 1080 and bought 2 1080ti. Bought a 6850k at first then a few months later saw the 6900k on sale for $800 so bought that.

2019:
Hated sli after a while so got myself a single 2080ti.Also upgraded to the 9900k as the 6900k was showing its age in some titles at 1440p.

Built a separate system with the 6900k and a single 1080ti. I keep my 6850k and extra 1080ti as back up.

Gave my 6700k away to a friend.

Plan on building desktop soon mobile gaming is nice but I want something with more juice.

I don't know what our family computer ran in 2000 (which I used till I got my first PC) other than Windows Me, but after that:
>childhood
Pentium4 till 2008, no GPU
Shitty desktop celeron till 2009, no GPU
Pentium4 again (the same one I used to use) till 2012 + 9500GT
>teenage years and early 20s
AM3 socket Athlon 2 X4 till 2018
My GPU history was chaotic for this one because it spanned a large chunk of my life. I had an HD7770 which died, then I had an early GTX card hand me down, then I bought a GTX770
FX 8350 current CPU + when I got this CPU I got an HD7950 as a hand me down from a friend so I could use it with AMDGPU drivers, and now I have an R9390X which was also a hand me down

>end of 2017 I built with a Ryzen 7 1700 and a GTX 1080, later traded along with some random other parts I had laying around for a 1080 Ti

I might swap the 1700 for a 3600 or 3700X, but otherwise I think I'm waiting at least another generation of both CPU and GPU.

That was supposed to be a Pentium 4 2.3GHz

I'm not sure how to display the CPU and the GPU at the same time.

Those fucking intel security issues i wasn't gonna risk all my shit for the jews, if same happens to AMD later i will switch to a fucking via dual core CPU to manage my important accounts there, and keep the AMD for games exclusively.

That was the punchline dude, also because of the new security issues the found i opted to switch instead of losing performance or even worse get hacked by some HaXx0o4R!!1

In hindsight i should have waited the full 4 years for zen2, but alas. Also my 4x4gb 2666cl16 cause hiccups where i have to let the board retrain every now and then, so i bought some 2x8gb 3600cl16 before prices rek themselves again because the nips and gooks are having a standoff.

Used to get an old office computer my dad brought from work about every year or so from the time I was 7 and I really don't remember their specs. The first two ran Windows 2000, after that XP.

The last of these I had until about 2010
>Pentium 4 2GHz
>7300GT (my father put this in so I could play Trackmania Sunrise properly)

2011
>Phenom X6 1090T
>Radeon HD6870

2014
>i5 4690k
>Radeon HD6870 (whatever I didn't care too much)

2019
>i7 8700k
>RTX 2070

Plus a bunch of laptops. Right now I own 6 working ThinkPads but the specs on these are rather boring and I only use them to show off in tpg. Fuck my life.

May I add that my grandpa used the old P4 computer until last year running first Windows XP and when that got infested from all the insecure porn sites he used, I put Debian on.
