>he didn't wait for the 3950X

Attached: 10486-face-with-tears-of-joy.png (512x512, 17K)

Nah, waiting for Ryzen 4000 when AMD and manufacturers figure out X570 or Intel 11th Gen when they finally recover, depending on what's good at that time
My 4790k is fine, showing its age at very rare instances but still fine.

I really dont care about blender benchmarks. I can compile on a potato so all i care about is
>muh gaymens

Wait for 5nm faggot

What do the bars represent? Your inability to think?

With frame rates going at over 100 FPS on any high end CPU, i don't think this is a good argument, not yet at least.
Need to see how games will be optimized for in 4-5 years from now, now that DirectX11 is pretty much dead, as even windows 7 people can just use vulkan.

Enjoying your motherboard fan buddy?

Waiting for Threadripper 3000.

Attached: CPU-Z.png (1227x951, 43K)

>wait for another launch of bugs that'll just make me wait more for BIOS updates
Nah I'm good, I'll wait until 7nm is perfected by either AMD/Intel.

People who buy thread ripper shit
Why did you buy it?

They didn't want to be the tool

I've been doing video editing and whatnot. It's pretty fucking rad to have a handbrake encode going on in the background while playing a game, and not getting any performance dips.

Rapid integration testing of software.

The difference between a 2950X and my budget quad core gaming CPU is around a 5x performance boost. That means something that might take 2 hours to build drops to under half an hour. Something I could feasibly test a full build of 2 or 3 times in an evening becomes repeatable 10+ times in the same time period.

Video encoding takes place at low process priority. I did encodes on a dual-core while gaming without issues.

I use this mostly for games and it's fucking phenomenal at 1440p/144hz

>100fps
Haha bro its 2019 i NEED a minimum of 150fps

>intel
>just wait™

i got it because it was (relatively) cheap
thanks amazon prime day

Attached: 2950x for $549.png (622x878, 388K)

haha yea bro now that i have a 144hz monitor i cant go back, intel all the way brother! haha poorfag amd users!

Wasn't it $100 cheaper today?

Yep.

WAIT FOR 3 NM FAGGOT

>Ryzen
>CPU-Z
Never change.

jelly. What tweaks did you make to get the single core so high, or is that out of the box?

Just out of the box. I'm running on an x470 crosshair 7 hero with gskill flare-x 3200mhz CL14 memory. It's night and day faster than the 2700x I had. The single threaded and lightly threaded performance is so high I don't see how intel is relevant anymore. And since it beats a 7960x in multithreaded, I don't really see the point of intel there either.

Unless you have a quicksync fetish, intel is dead.

nice man

Cinebench R20 work for you? It's an AVX workload.

>but MUH MSI

serves people right for being jewed into Lucky's dick.

... Msi? No, it's Anus... No I mean Asus.
Their bios updates are garbage but at least it works.

that's amd you fool
>wait for zen 2
>wait for navi
>wait for drivers

>>wait for zen 2
I did. It was worth it.

Going to wait to see what's the best my x470 board can/will support and upgrade to that. There will be price drops by that stage too. Anyone else /waitandsee/ mode here?

3600x not in stores here yet do not want to order from germany
replacing my 1600x which served me unexpectedly well
it's basically ~30% jump, unheard for CPU in recent years

>wait for zen 2
>wait for navi
I did, worth it. 2 year cycle turned out to be decent this time around.
drivers are fine as is, only fury and 7xxx owners complain

>drivers are fine as is
5700 XT owner here
No it's not

elaborate. they released new one today, most likely fixed initial bugs.

Using directx should be against the law desu

>5700 XT owner here
No, you're not.

>don’t post
>chipset fans
>corrupting data
>can’t overclock
>loses to 9900k in most real world workloads

No thanks.

Just Prime day'd a 2950x for £360 bongbux, 3900x is already at £450+ for less cores and similar clocks, who knows where 3950x will land.. plus x399 has loads of extra features I'll never use and those other things but meh. 16/32 for under £400 compared to the £275 I paid for my 4790K about 4 years ago, definetely a steal and worthy upgrade

hell yeah brotha
ryzun fucking suck incel ftw

Rx580 user here
I'd like wattman to stop crashing

There was also a stock of 2920Xs for $250 that sold out in like the first half hour of the sale.

>2920X
lol
3rd gen threadripper is going to be fun

Attached: Screenshot_2019-07-17-10-12-14-700_com.android.chrome.png (1080x1920, 419K)

Works on my machine

>>don’t post
works on my machine
>>chipset fans
just get X470 if you don't want to move forward to PCIe4
>>corrupting data
works on my machine
>>can’t overclock
except it can
>>loses to 9900k in most real world workloads
by "real world workloads" you mean "gaming workloads" right? because the 3900X destroys the 9900K in everything else, specially productivity.

that's a great chip user, it also boosts up to 4.4GHz and has a massive cache.

Definitely the best multicore performance at that price range, and a very very decent single core as well.

>benchmarking CPUs on AAA gayme garbage
>no benchmarking them on dwarf fortress
Where is the autistic grognard tech blog we want and need?

>Video encoding takes place at low process priority. I did encodes on a dual-core while gaming without issues.
For shit games maybe.
Gaming on same system as emby, Plex, mumble, misc game servers all while encoding remuxes to hevc whenever I want

zen2 threadripper isn't out yet, so nah

Definetely happy, I do a mix of some compute stuff and casual things so I think this will be the sweet spot, no point going for 32+ cores when Windows shitty scheduler can't use it and costs a ton more. I'm sure 3950x will be good when it drops but at double the price for 10% more performance?.. just need a AIB Navi GPU and my meme machine will be complete

no because old boards have bios problems or not latest AGESA and new boards have a shitty fan

Guys pls redpill me, want to upgrade, either 3700x or 9700k, what's the current state of Ryzen 3000? Still huge voltages and temps at idle? How important ghz are actually, is it another meme or important thing? Pls no shill wars, just answer

If you still have the impression that Ryzen chips have fuckhuge voltages and temps, just keep in mind that modern Zen 2 makes Intel look like a Californian forest fire. 3700X.

My 6700k won't reach 45° at idle. What voltage "should" a core have in cpu?

>3700x beats 9900k

Attached: 1542027477262.png (807x745, 205K)

What the hell is the benchmark here for?
I'm guessing it's based on something that stripes easily over several cores.

UHHHHHH

WHERE'S 3900X

I did get a ryzen... upgraded from a 6700k to pair with my aorus Xtreme 2080ti

Attached: Screenshot_20190716-215501.png (2048x1293, 372K)

... and we still don't know at what exactly

Attached: 1440600220683.gif (320x240, 3.73M)

I hope you guys appreciate the 10000 hours in paint it took to do this.

>pic related

Attached: 1080vs1440.png (3631x1451, 3.01M)

Do I need to worry about the heat from 570 boards? I hear things get a little toasty and have been considering a b450 instead because desu I don't know what I'm going to do with pcie4.0 I don't move enough data.

Attached: IMG_20190711_152937.jpg (528x960, 37K)

pcie4.0 seems like a meme tbqh. I don't see it being that useful except in niche circumstances, at least until a while down the road. And by that time there will be newer sockets and chipsets that you would need to upgrade to anyway, so I'd just hold off on it currently.

keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

Ryzen 4GHz = Intel 5GHz

>he didn't wait for the 4700X

I got a 2920x for 250 bucks on prime day. Pretty excited for the delivery today

>12 cores for $250
While intelshitters get 6 core 6 thread cpu for $250 LOL

valid.x86.fr/bench/16
>that 2990wx score
>7nm threadripper is not even out yet
Intel is fucking dead forever.

Attached: 1563340071718.jpg (960x928, 66K)

What are you planning on doing with it?

i did wait, and I truly enjoy my purchase of Zen 2 CPUs, especially because i was upgrading from FX 6100

based

i still have my sandy bridge and another year passes without a reason to upgrade. oh well.

I too love pozzed stutters

AMDrones working over time I see

No

which cpu did u get, fren?

Imagine being a retarded intelshitter hoping to compete with Ryzen

wait for 1nm carbon nano tube cpu incel

My 4690K is definitely starting to show some age, even OCd to 4.5 ghz and a decent m.2.

Jelly, bro. Did you stick with the wraith cooler?

I'll get one when aftermarket Navi AIB boards come out. Still not sure about the whole x470 vs x570 or even b450 argument for motherboards, since I'm pretty sure that I won't need PCI 4, but at the same time it seems that people are having issues with the backwards compatability

Yeah I'm based and redpilled af

You know Intel will just come back with an even more pozzed uarch to beat Ryzen. Throw more speed holes because Intel fanboys are braindead monkeys anyway.

Why can't Intel stop being pozzed shit?

Intards should be shot on sight.

Who needs performance when you can have more vulnerabilities!

Who needs game performance when you can unzip files 50% faster!

Yea bet a b450 and switch mobos
When b550 comes out2020

Who needs a house when you can have housefires!

One of you AMD lads tell me if they fixed the "infinity fabric cant do DAWs at ultra low buffer" thing?

Of course I bought one. I will be retiring this 3700X and X570 WS-Ace board to server use when the 3950X releases. Get some ECC memory as well.

Attached: SystemSpecs.png (1064x449, 79K)

I just got 3900x with an asrock phantom gaming x and a sabrent rocket PCIe 4.0 SSD for it and it's been really good apart from the RGB strip on the back of the motherboard going on the fritz. Waiting on my am4 waterblock to get here tomorrow so I can set it up on a water-cooling loop. Good performance no issues with gaming. Great temps after pulling some vcore off (motherboard defaults are retarded) and updating the bios. CNA be undervolted to 1volt with no loss of stability, performance is hit a little bit but the thermal performance is awesome.

I noticed my vcore was heavy too when under single core loads. my 3700X boosts to 1.45v for single core loads, but evens out around 1.32v for 100% multi-core loads on all cores. Beware of lowering vcore too much, it will ruin single core performance.

I did buy Ryzen 3000
3900x + x570 was a great upgrade from a 3770x
also muh ram OC tho

Attached: RamOC.png (1758x1127, 1.93M)

read the fucking thread, it's CPU-Z

how about you niggers actually post gaming benchmarks and not 7-zip + synthetic benchmarks
forza doesn't count

do you just ignore all the benches done by all reviewers?
>p..post gaming benchmarks hehe
>Forza doesn't count tho because it doesn't fit my narrative
