I really don't care about programming anymore

I really don't care about programming anymore.
I just want money.
I just want to retire.
How to cope?

So sick of office politics.
So sick of cramped open offices.
So sick of being surrounded by autists who can't carry a normal conversation.

Take up a trade instead. Being an Electrician is pretty comfy.

Go to church and find meaning through God

How old are you?

Programming was made for underachieving slackers.
Just do the bare minimum to not get fired.

This, but I also have $125k in the bank, but no debts or other assets. Should I just retire to Vietnam? I'm 25.

>instagram
this somehow makes it better? it's still garbage.

Instagram gives me a daily stream of softcore jailbait porn. What's not to like?

What's her Instagram?

Have sneed

sereeeenam
is her "official" publicity one
She has another personal one too

>I really don't care about programming anymore
That's because you're not autistic enough.
"Programming is for everyone" is a meme.

No. You'll go broke in no time.
Try to find a more meaningful job, perhaps in a totally different line of work. Become an officer in the military, a diesel mechanic, a pilot, or that dude who stops traffic during road works.
You're only 25, the possibilities are endless. There is absolutely no shame in admitting that the office life isn't for you.

>"Programming is for everyone" is a meme.
God this is true. I suspect it's a tactic to try to drive down programmer wages by "saturating" the market, but in reality you get a bunch of normies who are either too dumb or don't actually care about programming.

What would you do with your life if you could retire already?

I'm a programmer in the military and it's not much like what you described.
Me and two other guys share a converted small conference room, where we do our work and leave each other alone.
You'll have politics with literally any job, but here it's pretty manageable because we have a direct mission that we are supporting.

Get into a trade or work for the Forest Service.

what mos is this?

exercise
play video games

my goal is to just have enough investments by ~35 that I can pick some less shitty job and make up for the difference in income through the returns of those investments

$125k isn't actually that much when it has to last for the rest of your life.

I have lots of hobbies, I hardly ever get bored. I'd probably just add something like gardening and do some few hours of volunteer work at the town hall.

>Should I just retire to Vietnam?
You'll be paying rent the rest of your life since they don't let foreigners own property (whatever "property ownership" means there).

I'm a 3D1X2, USAF, but got picked up for this team because I wasn't your average thick-skulled comm troop who is only capable of basic troubleshooting and following a pre-written procedure.

This. That's nothing in America. But I think he was going to convert it to Thai currency. Not sure how well it exchanges.

That might be a significant amount of money in Thailand, but it would have to last him for the next 50 years. He would run out of money in a decade or two.
If you had something like $700k+ invested, you could live pretty damn well off the returns in a country like Thailand.

i'm fairly sure you have to pay something like $40,000 every 10? 20? years for a residency permit if you're a non-working foreigner with no significant investments, so that's a good chunk right there
retiring in thailand on $125k only works if you're alright with living like a degenerate king for 5~ years before dying of a heart attack during your super aids treatment because of all the steroid abuse and underage whoring

All right. Here is your mission. Figure out how you can make one or more of your hobbies profitable.

Create a softtware as a service, code it, perhaps team up with a marketer and then live off the income. Shift your thinking from "I have $150K, how do I live on it forever" to "I have a skillset, how do I make it a product or service instead of selling my time for money".

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, 150K USD will go a long way in Vietnam, considering the average salary for middle class is $500. You can live a very decent lifestyle for $500 USD a month with your own studio apartment and eating out 3 times a day. Spending $1000 USD a month is for dumb "expat" niggers that over pay and life in the expensive part of town and over paying in rent.

create a small business for yourself. Check out TropicalMBA and join the dynamite circle once you get good.

do you get to murder journalists?

learn systems or IT and do code in your free time

This. Programmer is a neet job, who no one likes you.
Electrician is Chad pure.
You can repair things by yourself, build shit and repair things for relatives, for easy money.

>tfw i work as an aircraft mechanic
>tfw im worked like a mule

Fuck you, i wish i had a boring ass office job where i can just shut my brain off and fast forward past the next 10 years

Ps: i really miss playing wow all day long. Best period of my life

hikkineet here
what do you want to do in retirement? also don't fall into the trap of loving money
personally if I had money I'd just buy a couple acres of land, start a farm, marry wife/have 12+ children, and live my live as best I can following the Lord's teachings
