step 1 is to update your scripts, then try disabling your current adblocker and see if the problem goes away. If it does, grab Ublock Origin and try again.

done them, it worked for the sfw Jow Forums but not on other boards like Jow Forums or /ic/

the adblocker being disabled helped but the ads shown are more obtrusive than the pop up,
my scripts are updated too.
i tried U-block and it didnt fix the issue sadly

The only updates in the past few days I made and weren't even to the script, really. Most were to the readme, changelog, correcting version numbers throughout files, and removing an extra mascot, no other code has changed so far. Someone in the discord reported the same problem, on chromium edge however, and said a reinstallation fixed the problem. I'm thinking maybe one of the updates within Jow Forums x has something to do with it. Export the settings for both (bottom left for oneechan, top right for 4chanx), and do a fresh installation of both starting with Jow Forums x, this should fix your issue. I'm on Jow Forums x 1.14.9.1 and OneeChan 5.8.7 and it's working. If it keeps happening I'll look into it, I see what might be causing it. Only issue is I can't reproduce it myself, so I'd have to push a 'hope this fixes it update'.

note: he was on ms edge, which was why I said install tampermonkey over violentmonkey. I'm on firefox and have violentmonkey working.

Or if one of you who are having issues feel comfortable editing the plugin, open violentmonkey, hit the edit button on the far left on OneeChan ( button). Jump to line 3349 and you'll see something like:

since what's happening here is it's not finding the boards property of $SS.conf["Mascots"] since that itself is undefined, and causing the error.

Firefox 68.0.1 (I just updated from 68.0) and the latest versions of 4ChanX and OneeChan (v1.14.10.0 and v5.7.7 respectively).

Can confirm 4chanx update process is doing this. Last night I got a cascade of update notifications, clicked "OK" to one and closed the rest. Then this shit began.
However, I tried re-installing both scripts, using a different script manager, importing old settings for both, and nothing worked.
Finally, I ran a firefox refresh and the problem went away inmediately.
Getting dozens of update notification tabs isn't normal, though. No idea what caused this.
In any case if anoher user runs into this problem the fix seems to be refreshing/re-installing your browser.

it's actually 5.8.7 but the bottom says 5.7.7 due to version numbers not updating properly. it seems to only be happening to certain people, or people not using the recommend extensions here glad you fixed it but if someone else is still having an issue i'd like them to test adjusting the code in that post, if that does work i'll push a PR to OneeChan github, but I can't duplicate the issue.

pushed a PR to OneeChan to fix the issue. some people have reinstalling working, but this should fix it for anyone who can't get it to work. also adds wider font range support 8px-40px instead of 10px-18px. see github.com/KevinParnell/OneeChan/issues/22 for more info and immediate fix until the PR is accepted.
