Don't forget the 9900k also requires a pricey cooler to go with it. You could just go with a chapter 3700X, stick with the stock cooler and put the savings towards a better GPU. 9900k only worth if you already have a 2080ti that can leverage it.

You can run Fortnite fine on an Athlon 200GE or a Pentium G4600, it's not demanding.
