I have considered that. But I'm not sure if the phrase that translates to "on their right hand or on their forehead" is a figure of speech. If it's not, then we're fine. If, when commonly used in ancient Greek, it means "on something held in hand or in memory", then we're past screwed and the world could very well end in ten years.

perhaps the mark on the face can be virtual: a viewer of videofeed running facial recognition places a square mark over the face in correctly trangulating a face. So it might not be even physical, but a side effect of having facial metrics.
Revelations translation from Hebrew is that it is more a "branding" than just a "mark".

Sorry, OP. First, the beast must be revealed as the beast. And that only happens during, before, or after he dies and then fraudulently comes back to life. In order to receive the mark, you have to WORSHIP the beast and his image. The only people who will do this are the eternally unsaved. The only people who won't be deceived by him are true, 100%, Bible-believing Christians (most professing Christians aren't really Christians and will gladly take the mark).

Much of the Bible is literal. I can't think of much in it that isn't. Genesis is literal. Watch the first video link here to watch it be proven literal in front of three evolutionist professors who are made out to be fools and can't answer for the fraud and basic flaws pointed out in evolution.
