ITT: Alien Chinese Technology

What is the most mind-blowing product you've come across?

For me it's these weird multi SATA cables.

>Multi sata
Pretty sure that's a sas to sata cable which is just serving as a breakout cable for 4 channels.

Laptop MXM slot (PCIE X16 for laptop GPUs) to PCIE X8 desktop

This is SAS, mongol

That's a breakout cable for SAS.

>tfw you order a forward breakout cable and they send you a reverse...

I remember when they released that shit in like 2005 and we all thought we were gonna be able to have modular, fully-upgradable laptops. so much for that future

SATA port multiplier.

It is shit and only a few motherboards support it.

Most of the Alienware 17/18's pre shitlake have upgradable GPUs, people putting 1070's in their 2013 alienwares.
The modern equivalent is TB3 but latency/PCH bandwidth meme, and its external not internal. To this day, AW, Dell/HP/Lenovo?, MSI, and Clevo are the last with upgradable internal graphics, and only on their very high end machines

>Accidentally trip and fall
>get impaled by the router

These SDHC raid cards.

If only they had a switch to allow every device SD card to jump from raid 0 into JBOD mode so I can use it with ZFS and also they made every slot SDXC UHS-II compliant for max speed instead of just sdhc limitation.

Too bad the chinks don't want my money.

pic related.
Tard moment.

>Wlan the Impaler

>SATA II
yeah, naw m8

Chinks did what my mobo/chipset can't
> x2 USB 3.0 front connectors, btw

what? thats not a thing

Why not? just a simple chip in the USB plug to read the USB drive and a DAC.

hearty kek

Where does the power come from?
The USB drive or the 3.5 audio socket?

My sides

I remember someone posting something similar with like 8 256gb shark miniSD cards.

If this isn't bait, you need to go back.

from the socket)

Have installed these fuckin things in all my rackmount samplers in my home studio so i dont have to bother with scsi hard drives anymore.

I still use floppies though, but all internal HD is emulated drives via sd-scsi adaptors.

it's not necessarily for data but power only

I had one of these that you plugged in the fucking cigarette lighter thing that comes in cars. Still have no idea how it worked.

Really should replace all the floppy drives with gotek floppy emulators or something though, but i like the nostalgia of still using floppies.

>making a slow 1tb drive for 80$

Actually reverse case:
I'm flabbergasted at the lack of dc voltage controllers for pc fans.
>sata / molex and pwm input
>flat dc between 0 and 12v output, according to pwm strength
Doesn't seem to exist. I wish i was still enrolled in uni, so i could just print a pcb with this shit myself
