Emmm... why linux no matter what distro I try doesn't use fan at all? My laptop is not hot but I feel heat inside while under windows 10 it's cool
Emmm... why linux no matter what distro I try doesn't use fan at all...
Your hardware is broken.
kitty, I can boot up to windows 10 and it's all cool, under linux it doesn't work at all, it's a joke
It has been decided by the Linux kernel that your hardware is shit and deserves to die.
because linux is shit
you can dig around in /sys and find the driver that controls the fan and set the speed to whatever you want. that's what "free" means.
Found the cuck
I'm serious, completely, under w10 it's all cool, everything works under linuxes it's not and I tested fedora, manjaro, ubuntus, all kde, gnome, deepin zorin, mint ect. because I have time and I'm bored
ye, I have nothing to do but fix shit system because it can't even work with the cooling
found the freetard cuckneet
>that's what "free" means
Tuxcucks and their coping mechanisms never fail to amaze me
ITT
indeed
pajeet freetards shilling lunix should kys
then just fuck off back to windows you total faggot
>Angry with the government's controversial land acquisition bill,
>a group of tribes people from the eastern state of Jharkhand sat on a public poop protest.
>The men, members of the National Campaign on Adivasi Rights, printed copies of the government's land bill,
>bared their bums and squatted by the roadside to defecate on the pristine white paper.
no need to get defensive winjeet
>tribes
What year it is in India?
# modprobe thinkpad_acpi fan_control=1
# echo 'level full-speed' > /proc/acpi/ibm/fan
this literally took me 2 minutes to look up.
/usr/src/linux/Documentation
>I have all the time to do this retarded shit
>but 2 minutes of troubleshooting is too much for my brain capacity
you type like a retard
Install tlp you faggot
how is a beginner supposed to know any of this lmfao
>just look up fucking kernel documentation bro
learning to read documentation is the only thing you need to learn. that and the directory hierarchy. and basic unix philosophy. that's it. fucking around with hardware like that would be one of the first things I'd show someone who wanted to "learn Linux" because proc and sysfs are perfect examples of "everything is a file" and "everything communicates in plain text".
Try
stress -c 16
Ran into the same problem. I'm running a homeserver on a ThinkPad and the cpu always overheated eventually. It didn't have much to do with the fan speed though, it is a problem known.
Google tlp as a power management solution under Linux. Also, try to place the laptop in a way that air flow is not blocked.
Also, I had another issue with another laptop, in this case running windows 10. The ventilation was blocked by some lint, so I opened the case and removed it, worked like a charm
A combination of the two measures above seems to have fixed the problem for me.
Checked and based flcl poster
I have an ideapad, this was in the installation instructions for gentoo on ideapad.
Linux is a kernel. You probably mean GNU.
I installed linux to not waste my time on console, please, return back to home desktops when you learn programming
ever met word 'testing' ? I am not from solving problems of your retarded shitty system
btw. wacom tablets doesn't work properly, krita is piece of shit, gimp too, can you stop doing this stand up? it isn't funny
the problem is that my cooling work under windows 10
...
Search github for some script for your laptop to launch your fans.
btw. wht blew me up are file managers, they don't remember last location, you cannot pin anything to the quick access and so on
it's been 30 years of development
Nah, he probably meant Linux distribution and problem probably related to linux.
Most likely Linux doesn't have drivers for his Mobo, because most manufacturers don't care about Linux.
cool solution, will install windows
That's why nobody uses linux. I prefer linux, but the only reason I'm still using it is because of ubuntu, and even then I need to make lots of system config changes to make it work properly. With freebsd was even worse, because I would need to run a program just so the fan work and not turn it off.
just use a Mac dammit, its life changing
what I noticed most problems only triggers community, just like they wanted to say 'why you waste our time? linux is great, why you can't live with it? buy better hardware, linux is good windows is bad'
this is just sad
Well, maybe if you naruto run around your workplace the fans will be able to work for at least a hour
So it's a the GNU kernel issue.
I'd say the issue likely rests between the chair and computer.
the mac is s device, you don't install it, you install things to it
He's not mentioning Hurd tho
OP was pretty specific about kernel
I didn't tell people to install it I told them to use it.
install thermald
Jesus you sound like a fag dude.
