Helping friend send computers to an African school and was thinking about raspberry pi. Would this be a cheap inexpensive option? Or are there even cheaper options?

>People use to send food to Africa
>Now they send fucking computers
unless u have the infastructure to manage or provision those pis, which I assume you won't, then unironically, just give them a chromebook undeer a school account.
>send food to africa
>start breeding like crazy
>now need even more food
>we need to let them into our countries or else they'll starve
Are chromebooks cheap?
not as cheap as pis, but you can find used units online if ur pressed
Idk about laptops, at least with pis I feel adults couldn't really resell them if they break into the classroom

Apparently its free, so your server costs and upkeep is done.
monitors costs, peripherals are gone since its a laptop.
Long term, your options are good but reqeuires most cost to maintain and keep.
Google wins out simply because you just need one competenet admin to managee Gsuite accounts. Far cheaper than a sysadmin that has to managee the machinees.
Well this is assuming that youree students arent gonna nig and steal the machinese.
I meean you can always just make the laptops stationary (in school only) and collect them eend of class. I doubt jamal would usee the chromebook at home for anything but phub and instagram.
they can sell them in bulk to some baseddev on reddit
Buy a used laptop.
For school children laptops are probably the best option save for the fact that they can easily be stolen or hidden. Surely you can find a 501(c)(3) or a retailer willing to donate.
>sending computer to africa
>not sending a bomb

They are elementary school students. If anything their parents or the village bad guys might steal them

This. 99% of (((aid))) that gets sent to africa is stolen.
All you are doing is sending computers to some african warlord and abetting terrorism.
>African techno terrorists
Is that an oxymoron?
Teach them to fish.
>never learned how to grow their own food
