Never owned a tablet before and I'm considering buying this cheap one.

The sole usage would be to have on my piano for sheet music and occasionally some light browsing. How easy are these to modify / remove the stock Google bloatware?

Those Lenovo tablets pretty much are vanilla and have no bloat to deal with. My mom has that one

I'd be curious how these Chinese ones are.

I would go for the really cheap / old stuff but I really don't want the thing to lag or struggle to load videos.

Don't buy a cheap tablet.
They are cheap for a reason.
Sure, you'll get recommendations from other anons but they probably haven't used anything but the one they bought and are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
Cheap tablets are either missing features or implement them poorly. Either way, this is the reason so many on Jow Forums claim tablets are a waste of time. Cheap tablets surely are.

Tablets should be booted from SDXC UHS-II or SSDs.

It sucks that NAND can die and render the device useless.

get something with e-ink you piano faggot bottom

I'd recommend the Samsung Tab A 2018 or the new S5e. They're $250 to $400, but they're top tier for their price. There are different Chink brands out there of course, but they're garbage.

Have you considered just printing the sheet music?

Can you not change the boot drive with android?

You need to de-install the Andriod (Really easy, there is an "Uninstall" button right in system settings
Then install any OS you want. Linux, Windows, Snow Leopard, whatever.
Everything just configures automatically to the tablet, so you're good to go.

@OP, I bought a used Galaxy Tab S2 off ebay, and hook my Yamaha EZ220 into it via a USB adapter and it works well. Also bought a license for Synthesia.

The only tablet you should buy is the iPad Pro. Any of them are good but Android tablets are slow, laggy, and poor in function.

You don't really need the real time kernel that exists in iOS since rtt for audio inside the android system is

I have about 500 pdf files.

Are 2gb usable ? Bought years ago a 1go one, it's kill. Too slow.

I think it's official lineageOS supported, but check the website to be sure

Chinkshit is good if you can root, and install custom Roms.
The original firmware is usually shit, and software kills them if you cannot install Roms.

Posting on an S5e. Can confirm this is the best Android tablet on the market for the forseeable future. Highly recommended.
