How many hard drives do you have? I have 14 individual 1TB drives. Most of them are empty. I find them for free but have no real use for them.

Why don't you raid them?

4x 8TB drives
2x 4TB drives
2x 1TB drives
2x 1TB SSDs
all except the SSDs are 70-90% full

Can you upload a torrent of your porn folder pls?

Local WEEE recycling bin

I don't know how / have no real need. My computer has only a 250GB SSD that I haven't even filled yet

Aren't those containers sealed? How do you get the stuff from inside?

He's probably the man emptying them.

It's always full and overflowing. You can just take whatever is shoved into the chute that didn't drop down. Often people just leave good stuff outside around it too

Man I wish my country had these containers.

Do you ever scan them to see what the previous owners had on them?

its not all that interesting

>Local WEEE recycling bin
So they don't work.
>Don't know how to raid...
I think windows 10 has raid settings in the partition tool. I haven't used windows in a decade, so I might be wrong.

Your township most likely has a recycling center with a designated electronics trailer. That's probably better, since you can actually go in and investigate, rather than hope that some enclosed container overflows.

This is assuming "my country" isn't actually Namibia.

I have 5x4tb HGST Coolspin drives in my N54L Xpenlogy NAS. I no longer have any normal HDD's in my rig. I previously had 3 HDD's of various sizes from about 500gb to 2tb but that was quite a while ago and two of them died and I think the 3rd one did also before I took it out.

I have 5 HDDs, and 2 SSDs.

total storage is 21.75TB, with 16.7TB currently used.

They are mostly from DVR boxes, so just encrypted tv show recordings.

>So they don't work.

Some have been mistreated and don't work, but most do work and have perfect SMART.

>Your township most likely has a recycling center with a designated electronics trailer
They do but it's their policy to let people in and take whatever they want. Only the people working for minimum wage there can take things home.

Anyone else here go bin-diving? I know all the fly-tipping hotspots and visit them every day

Meant to write tt's AGAINST their policy

250gb ssd
hard drives
1 500gb
3 1tb
1 3tb
1 4tb
2 14tb
2 4tb

>58G humiliation
I'm a bit interested

ssd, hard drive, backup hard drive, portable backup hard drive I take with me

Is it illegal to dumpster dive, or is just against company policy?

My server has
>250GB SSD
>2x 2TB
>4x 4TB
>1x 8TB
Probably going to get 4x WD Red 12TB disks soon as they're only $180 right now.

Main build is all SSDs with mechanical external storage
>Samsung 960 EVO 500GB
>Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
>Samsung 860 EVO 2TB
>2x 500GB 2.5" in an enclosure. Encrypted with my porn on it.

I don't want my family knowing my fetishes and that I'm bi. Take that to the grave.

The recycling center is walled/fenced and you can only go in if you want to dump something in there and even then they ask for ID. You can't walk in and bring shit out with you. It's fucking dumb but it's how it is. But I guess this is how they want to prevent gypsies from dumpster diving and littering all over the place while doing so. Dumpster diving is an integral part of the gypsy lifestyle here.

Build a few archives in case internet ends, you will be rich with all those movies and anime.

you keep posting about this. You made the same thread yesterday. Nobody gives a flying fuck about your hard drives

No I didn't, yesterday I was busy posting Eugenia Cooney across all boards

>The recycling center is walled/fenced and you can only go in if you want to dump something in there and even then they ask for ID
Seems a lot different from the dump bins all over my city.

In the regular back alley dumpsters around my town I think the most they could get you for is trespassing, but that’s unlikely. People might call you in thinking you’re a crackhead though.
If it’s in a recycling centre or dump then it is trespassing and they will be much more likely to take action.

Twice a year my town has a trash to treasure event where you put unwanted stuff on the curb and people can grab it, anything left after a week is taken to the dump by the town. I have gotten a few things this way.

A 4tb one, a 2tb one, About 5-7 1tb ones. Half of them are for backup.

I mostly use them to store media files like videos/images or archives for mods. All my games are on ssd.

> WD Red 12TB for 180$
Damn where I live these fuckers cost 400-500€.

/dev/sdf WDC WD30EZRX-00D
/dev/nvme0n1 Disk
/dev/sdd WDC WD40EZRZ-00W
/dev/sdb Samsung SSD 840
/dev/sde WDC WD80EMAZ-00W
/dev/sdc WDC WD10EZEX-75W
/dev/sda Samsung SSD 850

1x 240GB SSD
2x 1TB HDD
2x 2TB HDD
2x 3TB HDD
not counting drives in laptops/servers

Where I live it isn't technically illegal, there's no law against it, but cops will give you random fines for doing it anyway related to really old laws on the same tier as 'conspiracy to disturb the peace' and shit.
Since god forbid we reduce waste

>$180
Sorry! I meant $280, fat fingered it. But still it sucks that drives are so expensive for you. For $550 I could get a 16TB Seagate Ironwolf Pro

10tb was cheap during amazon prime day sale.

Attached: 1563233710696.jpg (752x485, 62K)

I'm literally addicted to buying SSDs. Every time there's some sale I buy one

I hope they're at least good quality and above 250GB. Otherwise you're wasting money.
>Drive shucking
Ehhh. I'm wary about doing that because aren't most external drive like that B grade drives that didn't pass quality control? Or worse, a drive where the USB controller is soldered straight to the disk?

1x 1 TB (old but still using it as my OS drive)
1x 2 TB for misc/downloads
1x 3 TB for games
1x 5 TB for anime/manga/videos/movies

I wanted to get a 1x 6 TB drive for second anime storage but I had to RMA it due to dead drive.

Not the 10TB.
They didn't have any WD Green at the time, so they put a white sticker on the WD RED models, so it was a real steal since it was almost 3/5 of the already low priced regular 10TB WD RED.

>100G of incest
Yes please.

My file server has 10 2TB drives. They're in two RAIDZ1 arrays.
My expansion plan was another 5 2TB drives, then 5 8TB drives and moving all the data onto that array. Not sure though. Plans change with time and tech.
My VM server has 8 1TB RAID6 array.
My desktop has a 2TB drive. My laptop has a 1TB drive.

>Dude let's let crackheads be like racoons collecting cans
>Dude reduce waist!
Retard

I run 4x 2TB drives:
>documents
>media (film/music)
>media (pictures>
>archive (backups)

really need to look into RAID configs but migrating everything is going to take a long-ass time

upload the JAV and interracial folders

I have 1 and in 2 weeks I'll get the ssd that I ordered
I'm actually exited, never used an ssd before

Have you shucked yours? I have the 8TB version still in the enclosure and it's a little loud for my liking. Considering just putting it behind my desk and forgetting about it

6x 10TB in server (RAIDZ2)
2x 10TB in backup NAS (mirror)
+ bunch of random smaller drives

only disks alone are probably well over 100W
what a resource waste

Where do you guys get cheap used/refurbished drives?

I have 4 with so many badblocks its impossible to use them without running into read errors every hour
Then theres 1 for backup, 1 for laptop and notebook

Attached: 1562584787310.jpg (3840x2160, 571K)

I've got 3 that are 500gb and another one that's 1.5 tb. I have no idea what to do with them.

Best brand for HDDs? SSDs? SD cards and other external storage?
Disks rack? I wanna start hoarding

give it back jamal

Raid in diskmgmt.msc is pretty shit. You want to use Storage spaces or snapraid.

4x4tb and 3x2tb in snapraid.
4x 250gb ssd in raid5 as my vm storage. Kinda regret it though, since three of those SSDs are QLC bullshit. I was fooled by the price.

I didn't buy the external version.
I bought the retail one and learned about it two days after.

It was only the 10TB at the time that was 100% certain WD REDs.
I have no statistics on the second batch of 10TB or the 8TB drives.

assemble the army
youtu.be/0XhxUT9vWCg

Only two 500 GB drives. Why would I need more? I'm barely using them since I don't data hoard.
Maybe I'll upgrade each to 1TB drives for backup purposes but it's not a priority really.

Even when they're not spinning?

>I don't data hoard
good luck in the post internet world

I don't know the number, but I have about 80TB (70 TB full)

1 nVME 1Tb
1 HDD 2Tb

I've got 3 terabytes of 60's pre-ambient

8 terabytes of the beatles. No not THOSE beatles, the new beatles. They haven't recorded an album yet and technically they're not really a band yet but they're indie-gospel-post-funk-punk style is going to be huge when you guys hear their stuff in about 5 years.

4 petabytes of the Ethiopian Free Jazz wave that occurred in 1973 in a town called Wenji Gefersi.

18 terabytes of sound check recordings from the mid 90's band LFO. They only scored a hit with “I like girls (who wear abercrombie and fitch)” but they were way ahead of their time.

That's just my C: drive. I have 41 drives.
