Redmi Note 7: The Official Jow Forums Best Bang for your Buck Phone of 2019

Will anything top it before the year is over?

I don't think so.

The Note is worth the extra few bucks.

No thanks

for me it's moto g7 power

>for me it's moto g7 power
Redmi Note 7 blows it away

Too bad it has a stupid notch. I'll stick to my mi A1 until this fad goes away.

What is Xiaomi Mi9T?

>$300

Realme X?

Insane how good this is for the price. Absolute poorfag scum can also get Redmi 7 which has no rival at that price.

Not in the US

>this chin

OP6T is still being sold. Something already does top it.

Pocophone F1 is blowing its nigger ass for 80 dollars more
>t. g6 plus

>80 dollars more
that's like 30+% higher pricetag tho

>80 dollars more
more like 130

how do I get one of these things (or the K20 pro) to work on US 4g bands?

Redmi Note 7:
1. Buy the Global version (with B2,4,5 LTE)
2. Be on a GSM carrier (AT&T or T-Mobile, or one of the MVNOs on their network)
3. Hope the area you live in uses one of B2, B4 or B5 for LTE

K20 Pro:
won't work, forget it.

If you want a Xiaomi phone with better band support for US carriers consider Mi Mix 2s, Mix 3, Mi8 or Mi9.

I'll probably get the Mi A3 in december if its price drops enough, if not then i'll get this one.

. Buy the Global version (with B2,4,5 LTE)
>2. Be on a GSM carrier (AT&T or T-Mobile, or one of the MVNOs on their network)
>3. Hope the area you live in uses one of B2, B4 or B5 for LTE
check check check for me. mine comes next week.

I bought a redmi note 7 3 months ago. should I get the 9t ? I like the camera

The Note 7 is a good deal, I bought it for a relative. The Mi9T is a superior step, you will notice the difference (I do, and it is fantastic), but I don't think it is enough to justify buying another phone.

I bought the redmi note 6 pro 1 month ago for 200 yuro. Did I mess up?

For 100% more features

Yes, you fucked up big time, RN7 was already out by then and it's around the same price, if not cheaper even (you can get if for less than 150€ from China, even in Yurop it usually sells for less than 200€).

you got a pro so you're not bad. .

mi a3 pro launched in september

time travel

I got ths for me gf
while the cpu and camera are v good the gorilla glass 5 (doubt it actually has it) is completely wrecked after 1 month of use

Went to xiaomi store and complained they told me to fuck myself and threatened to call security

Never buying a chinkphone again

>for me gf
>is completely wrecked after 1 month of use
what did you expect when you give it to a woman?

fair point but how did it even get wrecked if not defective?
My own gorilla glass 5 phone which is now 1y old and dropped on asphalt 5-6 times, was thwon with force against a wall once, has barely any scratches

>>My own gorilla glass 5 phone which is now 1y old and dropped on asphalt 5-6 times, was thwon with force against a wall once, has barely any scratches
does it have a glass back? is it in a case?

Any phone thatll allow you to group text and not shove mii messaging down your throat. Inb4 bootloader i dont know how anybody could be comfortable giving their number out to any botnet

that's good, it'll make the A3 price drop faster

>does it have a glass back? is it in a case?
no plastic back and no case
andi'm talking about the front glass panel

>plastic back
figures. that's way more durable than a glass back

okay I agree, but her scratches are on the front not the back

Ehhhh

>umidigi f1
lol no

I mean, what do you expect? Even Gorilla Glass 5 is prone to micro scratches and how did you expect it to survive a drop without any protection? The outcome of this is pure coincidence and luck. Next time don't buy her a phone, make her get her one. Maybe then she'll learn to take better care of her electronics.

All phones die in the hands of women. My ex got a new phone every year.

Is there some equivalent of this phone that works in the US(T-mobile)?

The global version, duh

>Best Bang for your Buck Phone of 2019
why are there so many poor people on this board?

You literally don't need to spend more than $300 on a phone.

plastic back will absorb the shock better, makes it easier on the screen

Most of the internet is poor people, it's a substitute for real life which not anyone can afford.

>hiding the notch on anything other than oled
I've been using the note 7 since feb, very happy with it, the notch really isn't bothersome and if anything I think trying to hide it makes it worse. the IPS screen simply isn't up for the task.

Doesn't that only work in certain areas though?

Most areas, depending on the carrier. Depends on the bands. Mine works fine since my carrier has 4 of the bands needed for my phone and 3 of them work where I live.

The redmi k20 can be bought for below 300 usd right now and will be for 270 the next time some opportunity/sales show.
And you want to buy a lcd notchphone with an old processor...

>IPS

Attached: 1535791650156.png (352x264, 67K)

Doesn't have many LTE bands.

>buy screen
>use only 90% of it
Jesus

The Mi 9T is basically the K20 (nonpro), but with global bands.

it just turns the background in the notch area to black as a mask, it doesnt actually turn it off

Can you say something that bothers you about the 9T? Eyeing it at the moment, and I really like the specs. Coming from a Redmi 4X. Especially interested in BT performance, cpu speed (no gaming) and battery life.

Still, you're paying for a larger screen and then don't use that real estate.
Don't get me wrong, I hate notches. But unless you're using OLED, turning it to black in the notch area doesn't even save battery life.

not him, but a friend of mine said
>screen is gorgeous
>battery and performance is great
>looks as well

>and then don't use that real estate
the icons are still displayed in the notch area, so no
t. notch hater

>>and then don't use that real estate
>the icons are still displayed in the notch area, so no
>t. notch hater
Alright then. Thought it would just be throwing away screen estate.

Nice, thanks. I'll buy it over the weekend then.

I was inclined to buy the Moto G7 Power but read in reviews the 3.5mm jack breaks in weeks. I need another huge battery budget smartphone for my gf. Any recommendations?

just buy the 6A and quit instagram

That's what the warranty is for

2 of my friends bought it based on my recommendation.

I'm not really convinced though. I had a redmi note 5 and it was an underwhelming experience. It probably IS the best at it's price range though.

that hurt

Attached: FB_IMG_1564061627724.jpg (720x1245, 76K)

is this the /spg/?
seeing as there is none

>it was an underwhelming experience
thats kind of the point, its a cheap phone that can perform the basic tasks

Bough two of them (red & blue) for my parents to replace their old ass samsung J3s.

They don't use cardless payments so lack of NFC is not an issue for them.

Are the Huawei P30 Lite and samsung galaxy a50 any good?

>Bang for your Buck Phone
Do you not understand what this means? Also, it ironically has more features than some flagships you can pay out of your ass for - it has a headphone jack, a micro SD card slot and an IR blaster.

>how did you expect it to survive a drop without any protection

But the xiaomeme wasn't dropped, or misuses, just used normally

I'm comparing it TO a phone with actual gorilla glass 5 (mine) that got abused to hell and still is scratchless after a much longer time

>But the xiaomeme wasn't dropped, or misuses, just used normally
Your mistake is believing your gf, I guarantee you she's been dropping and misusing it way harder than you have and is just too embarrassed to admit it.

Mi 9SE

>go to youtube and type hide notch redmi note 7
>every single fucking video is a pajeet
wow is this board full of Indians? I knew poos lived and breathed tech but I didn't realise Jow Forums was a poo in loo board

only pajeets upload niche tech support videos to youtube retard is this your first day on the internet

>3.5mm jack breaks in weeks
lol

I bought this fone a while ago.
Only problem I have with it is the os.
My previous huawei had the option to switch the standard path for apps to store data to my sd card.

not that I'm short on space but it annoys me not to have total control.

on the other hand, I m using a smartphone.so expectations are not too high.

This phone is yesteryear garbage recycled tech. Fuck, Jow Forums is the worst for technology.

You could get a used LG V40 for $250 on fleabay in good condition that will run fucking circles around this Redmi hot pile of shit.

Hell, even an LG V30 with a Snapdragon 835 for around $180 used is 10x better than a Redmi Note 7.

Attached: lg.png (764x785, 280K)

>not that I'm short on space but it annoys me not to have total control.
You can if you root and install a custom ROM.

>used

Ya, so? It's not like these chink phones have any kind of warranty worth of shit. I'd still rather go used with a Korean phone than chinaland garbage.

Bought a Lenovo Z6 Lite for the same price. Outside of the camera you are getting a far better phone for 150€, we won't see SD710 phones for that price for another year or so.

>This phone is yesteryear garbage recycled tech
>recommends a US carrier exclusive phone which is more than double the price with garbage battery life to boot
>recommends a phone from a company on its way out of smartphone manufacturing
>recommends a phone from a company that produced bootlooping devices for generations
And to top it all off, custom ROMs will never be a thing for it.

lol yes

>buying a used phone with a non-removable battery
how fucking stupid do you have to be to do this? My dumb boomer mother did this and now she has to run her phone in saver all the time.

And yeah, totally not Chinese. People who still spout this bullshit are worried about telemetry and whatnot, but guess what, not all phones made in China are equal. Your LGs are locked down, so, this "concern" of yours is bullshit and there's nothing you can do about it.

Attached: 1564146062252.jpg (1280x720, 551K)

>implying removeable batteries are a thing anymore
>implies others are luddites

Attached: 1546154535094.jpg (540x555, 20K)

That's my point, I'm saying you shouldn't EVER be buying a used phone now that you can't easily and cheaply chuck a new battery in it. Unfortunately the (((manufacturers))) won that war and made buying anything other than new a dumb decision.

how? its not difficult to replace a battery in phone
