>State budget & CURRENCY
>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 3200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150. (R3K APUs OCs better than R2K)
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget video editing
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in code) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOP, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>(GTX 1660TI @ ~$230/Vega56 @ ~$270) - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - higherer FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does.
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come mid-August. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

Avoid Corsair PSUs

>STILL waiting for the 5700xt aibs to come out
UUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Hi,

I have a budget 1500€
What do you think about this computer ?
fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/LH7xyX

For motherboard recommendations watch this:
youtube.com/watch?v=zuyuS04lD4o
Unless you plan to buy a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD x570 is a waste of money.

For memory read this:
techpowerup.com/review/amd-zen-2-memory-performance-scaling-benchmark/2.html
Memory performance differences from DDR4-2400 to 4000 are inside of 7% and mostly plateau at 3200. So I'd buy the cheapest $/GB kit at that rated speed.

Can't comment on cases, sorry.

>buy $100 seasonic
>turn my pc on
>PSU burns my motherboard and everything attached to it
Fuck this overrated garbage

Daily reminder before people start complaining about their Zen2 voltages

Sure thing buddy, make sure to buy Corsair next time so that you can burn your entire house to the ground

This is incredible, thanks! Very tempted by those LGs & hadn't considered an ultrawide until now. Time for some reading

Keep telling yourself that

Attached: DWgh8CYVAAAeFII.jpg (1200x816, 182K)

looking good, my fellow baguette
I'd suggest you get a different 2070 since gigabyte is kinda bad and their windforce models are especially bad

Works on my machine

The RMx series is top tier.
I told you to get an $80 Seasonic, moron.

fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/GxVNfH
Better ?
Config specyaly for 1080p 144hz gaming like csgo, apex, pubg
Or maybe a Gigabite aorus rtx 2080.
What do you think ?

I'm pretty mad at myself right now for choosing AMD Tbh
>ryzen 3700x temps up to 70C just when fucking around in windows settings
>5700 xt free sync not working with a 144Hz freesync 2 monitor
>for some reason had to lower the displayport version to 1.2 in the monitor settings to even be able to use a dp cable with 5700 xt's dp 1.4 socket
>rise of tomb raider benchmark with everything maxed out gives 17 fps at 1440p lol
>using the very high preset, with 144hz, fxaa and dx 12 enabled, got pic related, not sure if good (e.g. fps dropping to 60 in an old game)
>gta V won't even lauch

This could have been you, user.

If you do consider the ultrawide path, this site dedicated to the subject and it's forums is a must-have resource:
wsgf.org/

A few somewhat older now introductory videos:
youtube.com/watch?v=6Gq2YPOrx50
youtube.com/watch?v=ahW5oUxM6l0

It's basically like having a bezel-less multi-monitor setup.
But again, a 32" 144hz IPS 4K G-Sync would also be ideal for your use case and hardware setup like these filtered model result in pic related.

>change motherboard from b450 MAX to a x570 for £80 more

Attached: 1508661009406.jpg (480x602, 66K)

i wonder how would caesar 3 or pharaoh look in a monitor like that

Attached: lugdunum.jpg (1280x720, 224K)

Wait what? As long as the nvme drive isn't PCIe 4.0 b450 wouldn't be a bottleneck.

>2600x
>msi b450m mortar
>cant get above 4ghz all core at 1.4V LLC1 without crash
>cant undervolt by more than 0.05V
Is it a fucking lemon or what? Is there something else I can do?

Last month I asked around what's the best upgrade for a hyper casual coming from a Pentium wolfdale, you guys responded with a Ryzen 2200g.
Thanks guys, it was just what I needed

It's more because sata connections are something I really want. Asrock are the only company doing 8x sata on their normal models which I find weird.
Ill probably get a MSI AMD MPG x570 Gaming Plus
Most of the time on older motherboards as if you use the m.2 slot, it cuts off two sata connections. So you're down to 4 internal drives or your dvd RW if you use one etc.
This is probably for the best for me to spend the extra dough,
I've already cancelled the tomahawk MAX in live chat, even though only one shop has them here ATM

>Why do people buy 1000W PSUs again?
Most people are retards when it comes to PSUs.
You almost never need more than 550w.

>prime ultra titanium
I fucking hate marketing

Some error whith the case.
New config: fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/KhTL6s

Alright. There are still several cheaper B450 & especially X470 chipset motherbaords with that much expansion though without the need to jump to expensive X570 (just making sure that the boards have BIOS flashback to update themselves to be BIOS-compatible with Ryzen 3 without a CPU installed):
pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#K=6,12&sort=price&page=1
reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/bvfo57/list_of_b350_b450_x370_and_x470_motherboards_with/?st=jwrzhnfp&sh=854e155f

Also there are always internal PCI/PCIe SATA expansion cards, but they typically run $30-40. I myself am still using a Z97 Asrock Extreme4 because it has 8 SATA ports.

i know about the mod but the monitor in the op is WAY wider

>own a threadripper 1920x

How will this perform in gaming? I don't wanna waste it as I've never really used it and it's pretty damn expensive.

Can someone recommend what CPU cooler I would need for a 3600 and how many case fans is enough for a Meshify C?

>SeaSonic EVO Edition 620 W
Jesus why
fr.pcpartpicker.com/product/bkp323/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fx

At least the Titanium part is part of the 80 Plus PSU efficiency rating system (I wonder what element they are going to switch to when PSUs hit 95%+ efficiency).

Attached: 80-Plus-electronicsbeliever.png (655x277, 26K)

Ah yes, the Intel FUD brigade

Cheers m8, yeah I was considering one of those sata extenders. the x570 MSI gaming has bios flash back like their b450 model (I have that one new, still haven't sent it back), might wait until there are amazon coupons and get it there. Not that much more. money and 2x m.2 slots.

>I wonder what element they are going to switch to when PSUs hit 95%+ efficiency)
Boganoffanium obviously.

Can't wait for their 1000w fanless PSU.

Attached: SLeJ7z2vSX0r1zs8_large.jpg (953x837, 172K)

not really, and I'd gladly be proven wrong, e.g. by telling me how do fuck do I enable freesynch on samsung c32hg70 (it just says the card doesn't support it and 5700 xt driver says the monitor doesn't support it) or launch gta v on 5700 xt with the latest driver. or do something with those ridiculous ryzen temps

looking to upgrade my cpu for longterm so i dont have to change it again, what should i get ?

Attached: grip.jpg (1456x479, 100K)

Well congratulations Jow Forums, you built a new $2000 gaymen PC.

Now what are some fun, new games that can actually be played on it?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 57K)

minecraft RTX

fallout 76

Later in the threads they expand the mod a bit. Here's screenshots at 2560x1080 which is a common 21:9 aspect ration for some cheaper ultrawides (vs. 3440x1440).

Attached: Sierra-Ultrawide v2.png (2560x2160, 3.43M)

It literally has no ceiling.

Attached: 5.3ghz pass.jpg (1920x1080, 1.26M)

currently looking foward several retro games, some indies and about 2 triple A titles, like doom eternal and possibly ffxiv very soon.

real sad but this would make my 2k dream PC be something close to 1.3k

It's true. My CX430M stopped being able to generate anything close to 430W within 4 years.

unironically 9700k can get better that 9900k because of its lower core count, that would give more performance per power used and less heat generated

It has same cores, you know. Just no hyperthreading.

Theoretically 9900K with HT disabled should achieve similar clocks. But that 9700K is probably top 0.5%.

is the tomahawk max out yet

>Chinese capacitors
That's why you should only buy PSUs with nip caps.

Wow a $25 psu with a 3 year limited warranty lasted 4 years without even completely dying
Corsair must be the absolute worst
Corsair is

>want to buy a new CPU for the sole purpose of being able to emulate Monster Hunter 4 U at more than 1x res
>0 Citra benchmarks online for ryzen 3600-3900x
Someone help

Which 140mm case fans are the best bang for your buck?

I had the same thing with a GS-700 from Corsair.

artic overall probably
amazon.com/ARCTIC-F14-Silent-Ultra-Quiet-Configuration/dp/B01J4FUU7Y/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=artic+140mm+case+fan&qid=1564275921&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1

if you want silence then the be quiet shadow wings 2, if you want rgb then corsair

last I remember cemu was terrible with amd

Corsair already make those, relying on wattage rather than temperature. My RM-850 hasn't had the fan turn on in 6 years. I got it for free when my GS-700 killed my PC. Oof.

Citra (3ds) not Cemu(wii u)

If only. I need 1.355V for 5Ghz on my 9700k, 4.8 AVX is ~1.32V

Well, I decided to use the evga step up program on my RTX 2060 and get a RTX 2070 super. Should be a nice little upgrade. Now I gotta wait in the queue. Who knows how long that'll take..

emulation is bad with amd polaris and vega GPUs not sure about CPUs

Ever again? That's a tall order. But you should get an 8 core if you're looking for longevity.

Resident Evil 2 Remake
Sekiro

Hello frens, I have just moved off grid and have a fairly limited battery capacity. My laptop I am using pulls around 200-300w when the 1060 is cranking and I can run that all day no problem with power to spare. I want a mini itx build in the same power range, maybe up to 400-450w, is it possible to get something that could run VR reasonably well in that power range?

>GS-700
Served you right. Don't buy garbage next time.

Why the fuck are my fans stalling every 2 seconds
They are 3 pin in a 4pin hub but that shouldn't be an issue right?

Attached: 1507300119940.jpg (320x425, 15K)

Planning on upgrading my CPU to a ryzen 2700x, would that be a good idea?

Attached: Speccy64_uTxgxcKp2y.png (459x400, 17K)

>bronze 80+
>3 year warranty
Yeah, I was meant to know it was a lemon.

Can someone who isn't a blatant fanboy give me a tldr of 5700 XT vs the 2070 super? I'm aware AMD in general benefits from installing a million additional parts and overclocking which I don't want to bother with but it's benching better apparently

Attached: 1563566818032.png (960x540, 692K)

Is 3700x even worth getting atm with all of the BIOS and idle problems?

pcpartpicker.com/list/3MkNfH

does everything look ok?

also help me get a good monitor around $500?

I am planning to keep this build for about 5 yearsish

>hardwareluxx.de/community/f12/ultimative-am4-uefi-bios-agesa-ubersicht-25-07-19-a-1228903.html
look for mbs with 1.0.0.3 , otherwise dont bother
also this should be added to the op

What does it mean?

Also is 3200 CL16 ram sticks all functionally the same?
Is corsair ram just as good as any other ram

>89c

yeah go for it buddy

Not sure if this is the right place to help but I feel like I'm going insane. My old build was an i7 4770k with a z87 mobo. I just swapped it out with a 3900x and x470 asrock master sli and now my pc won't boot. I switched the cpu with a 200GE and it boots just fine. I donwclocked the ram to 2133hz and replaced it back with the 3900x yet it still won't boot. All that happens is that the lights turn on, cpu fans don't spin (for the 200ge it does even though the boot time is 10+ seconds) but no post and no display. The mobo tells me it's the latest bios when I tried to Internet flash. Does the fact my pc booted when I put in a 200ge mean everything's good except my new 3900x? I literally just bought it

Attached: ABABABVISHNU.gif (240x180, 680K)

it means it has the most up to date agesa code ( the stuff that handles cpu support)
tldr the mobo that has the most up to date agesa code should have better ryzen 3000 compatibility
about ram, it should if they all reach those same numbers

Can you RMA or return the CPU?

Tfw I got most of my new ebin gaming rig set up but the cooler isn't getting shipped for another 2 and a half days. Just looking at my poor CPU, sitting there all alone in its socket without a copperbro to hug just breaks my heart.

Attached: 1564277636493.jpg (849x1200, 238K)

Any word on the aftermarket cards coming out for the 5700xt?
If not when should I expect the news?

I wish I had a heatsink, by which I mean I wish Tifa would wrap her armpits around my face.

I've heard by the end of next month. I hope they stay in the mid $400 range because if you can get 2080 performance for that price then god damn son

What is the exact version that your mobo's BIOS says it is?

Next month is when they start shipping, so in a few weeks you'll be golden.

pcpartpicker.com/list/wkpTXP

good list? aiming for 1440p/144hz

Tell me why its a bad idea to buy a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, im about to pull the trigger

Attached: images (9).jpg (554x554, 18K)

I doubt it. People have chucked watercoolers on their cards and not seen much of a boost.

I strongly advise against adata.

I have replaced so God damn many from cyberpower and iBuyPower computers

rgb ram is 10 bux more expensive.......do i do it just because

Samsung is better but if you get a good price, it's fine. I have a MX500, 500GB.

RGB is mega gay

DO IT.

am I doing good with this? still want a new monitor too

I'll have to consider that if it doesn't work :(

I'm not home right now but let's say the internet flash didn't work (because it gave me 2 separate reasons if I click on it a few times, first is "no update found" and second time is "your firmware is up to date") how would I go about flashing it again? With the 3900x inside? I remember seeing something about 1.0.0.4 when I was looking through the bios on my 200ge

I have been very out of the loop since I built my current PC about 4 years ago
What's the current best choice for graphics card in the maximum 250 bucks range, I have a 380X now that I got for around 230 back in 2015

is a zotac 2070 amp extreme a good card for $430 ?

Reason for that RAM kit over this one for $11 less?
pcpartpicker.com/product/ZR7v6h/crucial-ballistix-sport-lt-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-memory-bls2k8g4d32aesek

Also do you have specific features that draw you to that motherboard? The only reason to go X570 is if you want a PCIe 4.0 NVME drive (even an RTX 2080 Ti doesn't saturate PCIe 3.0) and there are plenty of good boards that will work on the 3700X for much less than $190. See:
youtube.com/watch?v=zuyuS04lD4o

asrock.com/MB/AMD/X470 Master SLI/index.asp#BIOS

You have to manually update the BIOS, I think.
