They have severe dissociative disorder usually from years of mental abuse from their parents. They have compartmentalized their emotions to such a severe degree that this type of fantasy seems normal to them. No normal functioning psychologically healthy person finds this kind of behavior even remotely appealing and the mere fact that you are unable to recognize this screams that you are suffering from the same disorder.
