People don't understand this. Tyres used to be white. Tyres would still be white. But people don't like dirty tyres. So black is added to the mix.
White paint is what you get from a base mix. Once you start adding pigments and other stuff to add colours and effects, cost goes up. Nobody wants to paint a robot candy apple red pearl with gold flake effect because there's no fucking need and it's several thousand dollars of paint on top of several millions, if not billions in development money for nothing more than aesthetics.
