Its bit different from youtube or faggotbook or twitter where anyone if someone was banned they can say "was the same standards applied to Islam?" Apple's whole company is based around controlling every aspect of their product. Thus there was never a situation where people were mislead into thinking Apple was an open space where fair standards were applied. It was always about dictating company values onto their customers like a prison.

our pesky 1st amendment prevents the government from interfering with our right to free speech and thought. but big tech is not charged with protecting this right because they are private entities.

now everyone in power has a boner at the thought of outsourcing censorship to these companies as long as they're on board with the narrative. and since what society considers to be "intolerable" is expanding in definition every day it's easy to start the snowball rolling.

by the time people realize this the censorship will already have taken hold and any dissent will be chastised, demonetized, deplatformed, censored, or otherwise disappeared. since we've passed responsibility for bad actions on from the individual to the platform that hosts them, this was an easy path to take.

a large number of people in this country are naively on board with the idea of censorship as long as it's "good" censorship, and unironically suggest that speech (freedom) can be oppression if used incorrectly and must therefore be stopped.
