MPC-BE with AviSynth grain filter and only HEVC 12-bit encoded 1080p files. This is the peak but in reality you will most likely still find a lot of H.264 10-bit BD rips because the average kid can't bother to upgrade to a better player from WMP so that's probably what you should consider as minimum-best choice. Anything in 8-bit is a waste of HDD and requires a ton of deband unless it's some bloated 3GB/episode shitty release.

When it comes to audio obviously FLAC but again, the average releases uses high bitrate AAC and sometimes Opus (which is better by the way but still lossy).

Sakurako!

>HEVC 12-bit
Does x265 finally not suck anymore for 12-bit encoding?

Literally anything, dipshit.

Worst

If you are really concerned about quality you wouldn't download HEVC encodes. AVC is still the king for high bitrates.

Correct answer.

non meme answer:
1440p monitor=>MPCHC=>madvr=> NGU Sharp(among other things)
blue-ray quality on HS rips. not sure it will look as clear on 1080p or 4k monitor, the x2 ratio for upscaling is important factor

>1440p monitor
Why though?

Home server and jellyfin/Plex. Feels good to have all my shit torrented and placed in the correct folder. Then I just turn on whatever system I want to watch it on and stream it

720p=>1440p scales perfectly
you can get yourself a 720p monitor if you want

Isn't anime mostly 1080 nowadays? What should I look for on nya if I want max quality? I usually go with max filesize torrent with more than 5 seeders.

it's 720 for 99% of it
some blueray rips are fine at 1080p, some are blurred
if you got bakabt account, go there for older stuff
for me 720p is ideal, I really can't tell a difference with my madvr setup between blurays and horriblesubs rips

paper and pencils, make your own ideal animes

I really, really like Sakurako.

>720p=>1440p scales perfectly
In what instance? When you use nearest neighbor scaling?

it's like looking through a time rift at my newfag self

now bro give me some more info on this site, it looks promising,

i only use masteranime as of now since their library is huge, does this compete at all,?

is the site gonna die, it looks like the donations are a bit hit or miss,

I have an 1440p display, and yeah, 720 looks about the same as 1080 with a decent upscaler.

(2560*1440)/(1280*720)=4. It's just like how 1080p scales perfectly to 4k displays

>(2560*1440)/(1280*720)=4
And what does it matter unless you use nearest neighbor upscaling?

Um what the puck? (from re:zero) Sakurako looks better with breasts...

why don't you try NGU sharp on 1440p monitor and find out?

thats for opening a portal to gensokyo

>all my anime is 720p
>just bought a 1080p display today
I've made a terrible mistake.
Please tell me how to ignore it with mpv upscaling filters.

the JC with the JK boobs.

Use a reasonably good downscaler and fractional upscaling with a prescaler is no problem.
