I bought a windows 10 laptop, first time with windows 10. Removing the bloatware was easy because of the searchable control panel. I love having a privacy page where I can completely control what data the machine allows apps to have, and from what hardware, and in what scenarios. it seemed idiot proof, and I would know.
Been using it to write a book while on vacation, im a failed author. Have not installed any apps except facebook messenger through the Microsoft Store and firefox for Jow Forums. I bought a logitech mouse at walmart, been using both devices together for a week.
Today the mouse stopped working, even with new batteries, even with switching the bluetooth receiver to different USB ports. Also, now, the scroll wheel 'activates' on it's own. in firefox the webpages move on their own, and in explorer too.
I searched for it and everyone has this problem, on 3 different brands of mice, and the microsoft tech support is no help at all and just ignores you even though you follow their instructions.
This afternoon I rebooted the machine without the mouse plugged in, tapped my pin, and the desktop folder with my work is gone. I searched for it, it's gone. I put a new backup SD card I formatted using this laptop just for this purpose, also from walmart, in the laptop and copied it over. I opened explorer, right clicked on the SD card and ejected it. Then I removed the card. The machine rebooted and the folder is gone. I can replicate this all day, my girl is in the hotel room and thinks it's spooky. Every webpage i go too scrolls on it's own even thought the mouse is no longer connected. If I save a file from google images, when the machine reboots it won't be there. if I run notepad.exe, write test, save it to the desktop, and reboot the machine the file won't be there.
are the NSA rumors true, do these machines belong to someone else, like a library computer? and if so, how do I put linux on it?
