Monitor thread

Monitor thread.
I need 16:10 monitor with IPS matrix. 60Hz is enough.
Height-adjustable stand.
Is Dell U2415 still the best?
Also do 16:10 monitors with 2k or 4k even exist?

what do you need the 16:10 aspect ratio for?

for desktop threads

Is there a IPS 1440p 144hz monitor that has accurate enough colors for video editing and perferrably isnt "gaming" branded and doesn't cost a fortune?

Pretty much something like the Dell U series but with 144hz

I'm also a 16:10 fan, but I've just give up and got myself a 2560x1440 Dell monitor.

I don’t know why there’s this stupid conception that you need accurate colours for video editing. You need accurate colours for colour grading, not positioning video and audio clips on a timeline.
And even then you don’t need insane colour accuracy unless you’re a professional.
Buy your Gayman monitor, and if you really need it buy a used iPad to use as a colour grading display.

Because 1.6 is the golden ratio
Because it gives you more vertical space when doing work

>Is Dell U2415 still the best?
Kek, dell was never the best, only the cheapest.
Go with EIZO EV2457 or NEC EA245WMi-2 CT.

Great. Any 2560x1600 recomendations?

Neither NEC nor EIZO make 2560x1600 business-class monitors. For that resolution they only have professional-tier graphics monitors. And they cost a lot of money. So no recommendations here from me.

>EA
>not the P series
you're never gonna make it

Based 16:10 bros
I'm poor and have no recs btw

>P
>not the PA series
you must be retarded thinking OP needs P-series NEC

I've had one for a few years now. Pretty great monitor, but the touch controls are a bit annoying. Dell sells a speaker module that attaches to the bottom of the monitor.

Dells have LCD overdrive with overshoots enabled permanently.

When I said video editing I actually meant the whole package including color grading.

And actually I am a "professional". I own a small video production company and we are considering buying a Blackmagic cinema camera which shoots 10bit RAW so color accuracy is actually quite important to me.

So buy a professional work monitor and a gayman monitor for home. Problem solved.

>16:10
>poor
This combination actually goes quite well mostly because 24" 16:10 dells are cheap as fuck and 16:10 monitors with a higher resolution than 1920x1200 aren't a thing until you reach the 30" 16:10 ones.
Also none of these 16:10 dells support more than 60hz so you'll be set for at least another decade.

>Also do 16:10 monitors with 2k or 4k even exist?
Yes. If you're already looking at Dell's Ultrasharp series, why aren't you aware of their 30" 16:10 models?

Why the fuck do you need 144Hz for work?
60Hz is perfect and 90Hz is more than enough

>Jow Forums
>work

Hey its me again tell you that you are an idiot for buying an 800 dollars 60hz 1600p panel
>pic rel, its the monitor i have on the way

>guys i need 16:10 monitor
>here gaymer 16:9 garbage lmao xdx
(you)

Does going 1080p to 1440p worth it?

i mean i hate playing arma 3 shooting at very tiny pixels.

>i need
>16:10
Hahahahahahahahaha

16:10 is superior in every way.

>non-stardard meme trash from the past
Kys

I get everything you do, but with extra vertical space. stay mad

800 dollar meme monitor. No one agrees with you

Aspect ratios for desktops are a meme. 16:9 is the cheapest and most available so just buy a larger one for less money.

Also don't go for lowdpi shit in 2019.

this has served me well

Looks better than the meme overprice dell shit op posted

One of the best purchases I've made for productivity.

Would a non-gamer notice any significant benefit from upgrading to something over 60hz?

no

notice a difference? yes
benefit? ehhh no

I prefer more monitors over anything in productivity personally. I also cant use workspaces because i am dumb

I agree I bought two
Pretty hard not to at that price

I'd rather have 16:9 at 1440p or 2160p than 16:10 1200p.
16:10 1600p is so overpriced you'd have to be an actual retard to buy it.
