I just ordered from AliExpress for the first time.

Ender 3 is the recommended chink printer. From there you upgrade it to fit your needs. The general consensus is that the other printers similar to the Ender 3 are not worth their price. You also have a large community that uses the Ender 3 if you like that sort of thing, similar to the raspberry pi.

That's what I've been seening.
Looks quality with proper grounding but there's two major flaws I keep seeing which is the cord has a bad solder joints on the handle and socket end and the clock loses time.

The bonus is that it uses a plain old STM32 so there's potential for modification to make it Jow Forums approved code!
Haven't seen this kind yet so I'll have to check it out a bit more but I'm glad to have another option.

The only other one I've seen mentioned is those 8**/9**D series stations which I've heard aren't as quality controlled.

So long as you got the protection which comes standard I think now if you don't get your item after 30-60 days, message the seller, they'll either; send you another one, or don't respond at all/ask you to be patient. If the later two happen just take a screenshot of the conversation and start a refund request, Aliexpress is actually good in this regard and will typically refund you, they have for me in the past for stuff I've ordered and not received after 2 months or so. If they say they send you another one and you don't receive it within a month then open a refund request. I'd say I only lose one package out of every 10 or 15 I order though.

The buttons and D-pad are great, as is the shell.
Feels really solid in the hand, unlike a lot of these devices.
Sound gets loud, and the speaker is clear. The volume pot is a little finicky though. Goes from whisper to blaring at a specific point, but you can get the full range if you ease it around.
The screen is alright, the best non IPS screen I've seen in a device like this, but it's not IPS or OLED. At least it's 60hz. No ghosting or blur. Non standard subpixel arrangement, but to be honest I can barely notice at this size.
The stock OS is still shit, but it's easy enough to get RetroFW on it provided you aren't utterly retarded.
Most of the emulators are great, and there's plenty of ports as well, I've played a lot of Doom.

I'm surprised because the thing I ordered was 1) trivial nonthreatening stuff (pocket clips and chicago screws) and 2) Had a total cost of US$22 which is under the EU threshold for customs duties (Articles 28 and 29 of EU Treaty). But maybe the customs are unhappy because the chinks always undervalue the packages they send.
I'm also surprised by how fast the pacakge came: ordered on the 25th of July ~15:00, shipped out 25th 19:00, arrived in my country 2nd of August.
