Unironically this.
Heathen software cannot withstand the light

>using an antivirus
Just use the Norton that came with the Microsoft, been using it with the Windows internet and I've had no problems logging onto the Facebook computer.

Why isn't Eset tested as well?

Virginity.

people always meme about common sense being the best antivirus, but nobody seems to remember how back in the day viruses were fucking savage and would fuck your computer up hard.

Vipre

u wot m8?

Not using a pc.

There isn’t one. If you’ve heard of it an it passes the VB100 it’s fine. But even those aren’t going to protect you against the things you really need to be scared of.

Yeah, this was pretty much why I asked this question. I'm just looking for a base level of security since I wanted to go exploring.

AVs can still be useful. Some free porn sites (or the ads on those pages) are infected with adware agents, trojans in JS, coin miners and others. Disabling JS makes the website nonfunctional.

boot fedora into a vm if you are going to go out looking for (((pictures))) on the dark web, it's free and the whole process takes only a few mins to set up

I really hope you're not implying I'm going to look at certain (((P I C T U R E S))) because I'm not. I'm just curious about the deep web, not the dark web or any of that (((shit))).

Common sense. These companies have a direct interest to keep viruses circulating and to fear monger.

Look up how John McAfee made money from his software. Viruses aren't just actively forcing themselves on your computer. You have to do something for it to happen. Are there situations where websites get taken over and inject something? Sure but an AdBlocker solves this and you should use it already.

Besides, you don't have anything of value to steal anyways.

Common Sense hasn't updated since 2007 dude.

you need to fight fire with fire OP, infect your PC with so many viruses and trojans that none of them can get anything done.

Thermite. Gets rid of any biological and/or digital viruses.
Seriously though, anti-virus software makes you less safe. Don't use it.

>the creator himself used ubuntu
OH NO NO NO NO NO

GNU+Linux a.k.a. Common Sense

calm-av

Clamav is fartsniffing antivirus. It's worse than even windows defender.
Use Dr. Web Security Space instead.

GPL version 3 or later.

Gentoo.
