When the government (USA Federal at least) gets involved with infrastructure that needs constant monitoring and upgrades, it always turns out horribly. Our interstate bridges are monitored but hardly ever upgraded. The government's own intranet is years behind and practically Swiss cheese. Our border security is a damn laughing stock. Veteran healthcare, while improving, has left patients dead under a pile of red tape.
