Recently I talked to them because my sister is sick and I wanted to see about the medical treatment she’s receiving.
After that, I occasionally felt like I was being followed. Later my sister visited and she told me my dad hired a PI firm in America to follow me around. She showed me pictures this PI had taken of me in a cafe (my sister took them from my dad’s phone).
How could this happen? I feel super creeped out. Can someone track me from just knowing my phone number? I think this PI probably is an ex cop or has ex cop contacts and used my cell phone to find where I am. I feel unsafe now.
Can I call the police? I have this picture of me taken by someone else, but that’s about it. If I change my number, can I be safe? Or is my phone’s IMEI somehow compromised?
Please help. They wanted to marry me to their business friends in UAE but I don’t want to. I have a bf here. I’m scared they will kidnap me either here or if I go on vacation somewhere like Thailand or Mexico.
I just want to know if it’s possible to tracked by someone (using police contacts) if they know my phone number. I also want to know if I can change my number to stop this, or if I should get a brand new phone.

But really, you're looking at a tough road, you could abandon your identity, that would be a real pain in the ass. Our legal system probably won't help you, either, because there's no present threat. Where do you live? Buy a gun, you could probably frag somebody who entered your home to threaten you.
As far as being harder to track, he probably used cop resources to pull your address. You're not going to be able to fix that. Best you can do is keep your schedule variable. Exit your home through a different door. They're basically following you when you leave.

It’s not possible using police anything, unless you have a gps tracking service on your phone. If it is an android phone set up by your parents, get a new one, if it’s an apple phone just wipe it. Easiest way to be sure you’re not being tracked.

On a side note, your father doesn't sound like a good business partner, so the deal might fall through if enough time passes. well as I mentioned, all public places are A OK in the US. I would try to apply for a US citizenship as I mentioned. Being a US citizen gives you a social security card and the ability to request a legal name change. A legal name change can make finding you really difficult. You could also get a gun permit and start conceal carrying. If you ever feel your life is in danger, you can defend you and your BF with lethal force (assuming you're not in some shit tier state like California). Then you would also have to be willing to leave your current area because you're already on the radar of whoever your parents are using. You being "tracked" via your phone is irrelevant.
However If your phone is on your parent's plan, time to grow up and get your own.

Yes there is a grey market for personal information tied to phones.
If you want an anonymous phone line order an activation kit from tmobile and buy a new phone so you have a clean imei that can't be traced to you.
When you activate the kit DO NOT CALL, and do not go into a tmobile store. You activate it in the online chat and give fake information, use a prepaid visa/mastercard for the initial setup.
After the phone is activated you create your account and then feel free to use your regular credit card for phone payments, just don't select the option to save CC info.

You should call your service provider if you want a new #, I would like to give better advice but I don't know enough about IMEIs and FCC shit to say if they are tracking you. They would almost certainly need to be working with your service provider to do that, which seems very unlikely. Phone number can give them a clue as to your location with the first three digits (maybe the next three too) but it's most likely a more low tech method they are using.
