mpv.net is for CIA niggers

IINA, it's MPV based for MacOS. A lot more polished, better to use.

who here uses mac?

>who here uses mac?
cock sucking faggots

Incorrect

how is sucking cock bad? don't lump that in with fucking mac.

Me, but I wish IINA was multiplatform. It has the best UI of all the mpv-based players.

I have never sucked a cock before, alfhough I'm curious about doing it.

Chad and Stacy use a PC with Windows or a Mac.

another falseflag thread
and it's already full of shitposting...

There seems to be a correlation between how many shitposters there are and the popularity of the frontends available. Normies always ruin everything. This is why dumbing things down is not always a good idea.

This guy derailed the thread:
So it's not full of "shitposters" only one neckbeard who can't stay on topic without going into brand fanboying.

>people always bitching about loud actions scenes and talking scenes where the voices are too quiet because they don't setup their system to downmix to stereo properly
>use mpv with audio-channels=stereo
>literally never experience that problem

Why would I use stereo when I can use an audio filter like lavfi=[dynaudnorm=f=200:g=5:r=0.1]?

i dont care what anyone says
but MPC-HC is THE BEST Media Player
and thats Just facts
it literally starts up at the speed of light, and thats all i need.

If start up speed is your measure of the best media player then mpv is the best

Reported for shilling.

>announcing reports
big mistake

It sounds pretty jarring. Listen how the background noise gets loud, and then goes quiet when they start talking.
a.uguu.se/ZhnIvvh6rBoA.m4a
Loudnorm sounds better than dynaudnorm to me, but it makes everything sound kind of flat.

You can ways tweak it to how you personally want it

It's not polished at all

>IINA
>more polished
Pick one. There is a reason mpv.net is gaining more popularity here. It is by far the most polished mpv frontend.

>There is a reason mpv.net is gaining more popularity here.
You mean the constant shilling?

>MPC
Get out!

Brainlet-kun here. Need a little bit of help.

What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing right?
I'm not that well versed into this thing and I would appreciate if you could give me the right pointers to make this work properly.

You can't shill free and open-source software, user.

bruh

Did you think I put the "dumb fuck juice" pic just for show?

Some of those settings are default. And some are included in profile=gpu-hq so you're including them twice for no reason. I suggest you look up those settings in the manual to learn more about them and find out the defaults.

Attached: 1557799830876.png (420x297, 21K)

mpv.net-chan when?

it's gaining more popularity here because windows is popular on Jow Forums

What about the shaders? Anything I should change there?

Are they working? Are you dropping frames? Are you happy with the picture?

They don't work well with anime stuff.
I'm having no extreme issues with movies. A bit of ghosting but nothing major.
How can I tap to see if they're at work on screen during playback?

>How can I tap to see if they're at work on screen during playback?
shift+i then press 2
or
run mpv through cmd
or
create a log file

Which is better for anime playback if I want the best quality possible, MPV or MPC-HC?

Then what would you call it, when people constantly try to sell you a free program like a shady car salesmen?

>try to sell you a free program
You see the issue?

Sell as in "sell you on an idea", not "sell you a product for a price". Imagine I wrote "persuade you to use" and answer my question.

What are the best scripts for anime? I haven't used MPV since 2017.

>use mpv with audio-channels=stereo
is this a default setting?

artoriuz.github.io/mpv_upscaling.html

cool, i never heard of this but have been using mpv.

is there any way to display the Overall Bitrate in the statistics?
also is there a reason certain files takes longer to display the bitrate than others? It's not a file size thing either, I've tested it on massive files where it's been instantaneous, but then have had smaller ones chug 4-5 seconds every time I skip around before it loads it back in.

Attached: stats.jpg (1920x1036, 1.14M)

are upscalers like FSRCNNX something you have to download yourself, or do they come with mpv?

you have to download them separately and enable them in your mpv.conf
with
glsl-shader="/path/to/shader.glsl"

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/User-Scripts#user-shaders

How much am I missing out not bothering with shaders at all and just sticking with the hq-profile?

Not much unless you have a big high-res screen and/or watch a lot of old low-res anime

github.com/Artoriuz/artoriuz.github.io/tree/master/images/mpv_upscaling/shuri
here are comparison images.
honestly you won't miss out on much if you don't have the 'tism

Thanks. I don't have the computers to mess with these scalers anyway. But maybe in the future.

Honestly, I think in next OP, mpv.net, IINA and Celluloid be mentioned as front-ends of mpv.

Reposting some old questions that I still haven't figured out.

Why isn't KrigBilateral exclusively used for chroma scaling when watching JPEGs?
Why doesn't SSSR activate after FSRCNNX_x2_56-16-4-1 for scaling factors > 2?

>deband=no

prove me right now why mpv is better
and use only facts

Attached: pleaseexplain.jpg (704x624, 82K)

Perhaps he toggles it only when needed.

Have set it to deband=yes now
This profile does not work when for example I am playing a really old anime video(with lots of grain), so I replace the shaders with this
scale=catmull_rom
dscale=catmull_rom
cscale=sinc
cscale-window=blackman
cscale-radius=3

Would spline36 be better instead? Honestly, if stax really is going the GUI route, he should let us switch between multiple profiles.

Personally, I love using the first one(with external shaders) most of the time, but sometimes I have to use the second one.

No, the manual tells you what is default.

mpv.io/manual/master/#options-audio-channels

>so I replace the shaders with this
Any reason to remove SSSR as well? It usually enhances every in-built luma upscaler (at least I never encountered an instance where it hurt the quality).
>Would spline36 be better instead?
For what? Your default config already uses it for chroma scaling. Also it's always best to test and compare yourself.
>he should let us switch between multiple profiles.
The problem with on the fly profile changes is that you can't unapply a profile. You'd need a counter profile to revert all settings.

Also, when I set deband=yes, I always get 1 dropped frame. I dont even know if thats supposed to mean anything.

A few dropped frames is ok. Just opening stats can cause dropped frames. It's the continual dropping of frames throughout a file is what you don't want.

how does this work on mpv? I copied the files in the config folder, but still nothing. I am mpv.net btw.

github.com/TheAMM/mpv_thumbnail_script#configuration

did you put osc=no in your mpv.conf and set autogenerate=yes in the scripts config? maybe it won't work with mpv.net, which i'm assuming uses its own osc

thanks, I tested with this
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\noise_static_luma.hook"
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\noise_static_chroma.hook"
glsl"
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\SSimSuperRes.glsl"
scale=catmull_rom
dscale=catmull_rom
cscale=sinc
cscale-window=blackman
cscale-radius=3

And it works. FSRCNNX is not perfect I guess. I was just wondering if spline36 is better than catmull_rom.

I meant
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\noise_static_luma.hook"
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\noise_static_chroma.hook"
glsl-shader="~~/Shaders\SSimSuperRes.glsl"
scale=catmull_rom
dscale=catmull_rom
cscale=sinc
cscale-window=blackman
cscale-radius=3

Why can't I change the audio track in this shitty player?

I mean its always exactly 1 dropped frame. Usually, in heavy presets I get a few dropped frames at the beginning and then it becomes 0 eventually. But now the counter is stuck at 1.

Yes, I did. autogenerate is set to True in all the scripts. Seems this script does not work with mpv.net

>Why isn't KrigBilateral exclusively used for chroma scaling when watching JPEGs?
works for me

>Why doesn't SSSR activate after FSRCNNX_x2_56-16-4-1 for scaling factors > 2?
maybe because too many hooks?

is there a reason to use error diffusion over rgb32f
cant run both

Actually, fuck that. I just removed the hook files instead.

error diffusion is not yet perfect in mpv.

alright, ill stick with fruit and rgba32f then

does anyone know the max values for box/sphinx tscale-radius?
there seems to be a drastic change between 2.00 and 2.01

it looks like the max is 16.00
that doesn't really explain this phenomenon though

>Cannot load nvcuda.dll
>VO [gpu] 1280x720 d3d11[nv12]
I have an amd gpu, why does mpv even show that?

>Cannot load nvcuda.dll
>VO [gpu] 1280x720 d3d11[nv12]
I have an amd gpu, why does mpv even show that?

try a different gpu api or set hwdec to something

If I use vulkan it Shows a bunch of libplacebo warnings about some glsl things missing

What name do I need to put into input.conf to get the Insert key to work as a shortcut?

put input-test into your config, then start mpv and it'll display the correct names for any key you press

Thanks.

>works for me
It is rather weird. I tested it with more files now and it seems like an aspect ratio of 0.8 is the magical threshold. Everything above gets handled with KrigBilateral exclusively, everything below uses an in-built chroma scaler right afterwards.

What's the best subs font? No defaults please.

Then try d3d11
profile=gpu-hq
hwdec=d3d11va
gpu-api=d3d11
gpu-context=d3d11

This is the same as if I just leave it empty, so it still says cannot load nvcuda.dll and [nv12]

i need a video editor
can gee provide me one?
>inb4 desu niggers

let's say i use mpv.net for playing iptv using a big playlist
how would i go about switching to a specific item in playlist without going through it one after another?

Its definitely not same as default.
Honestly, update your Nvidia drivers is all I can say

indeed.

Attached: Terminal.png (2798x1502, 1.3M)

Use the blackbox script
github.com/VideoPlayerCode/mpv-tools

github.com/jonniek/mpv-playlistmanager

I don't have any Nvidia drivers as far as I can tell, only Radeon drivers.
I don't know if it's the same or not but it shows the same message about cuda and it was using d3d11 before too

still works for me, unless dimension is an odd number.
